Bitumen, renowned in many circles as asphalt, is a dense, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid substance derived directly from petroleum. Its extraordinary waterproofing capabilities have made it a cornerstone in the construction industry. There are primarily two key methods for applying bitumen membranes, ensuring versatility and adaptability in many scenarios.
The two principal methods are the Torch-on technique and the Self-adhesive approach.
Torch-on bituminous membranes offer a flexible and user-friendly solution, adaptable to all weather conditions. Upon application of the CHENHUA membranes, a seamless, watertight barrier emerges, robustly adhered to the surface for enduring protection.

The Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes find extensive use across a spectrum of building grades, ideal for waterproofing and seepage-proofing endeavors. They are tailored for both visible and hidden areas, such as flat and sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and much more.

Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure that your substrate is immaculately clean, dry, and devoid of all contaminants, meticulously prepared for optimal performance.
All dust and loose, friable materials must be completely removed to maintain a pristine surface.
Blowholes and voids should be fully exposed and subsequently repaired to ensure an even and smooth surface.
2. Primer:
Before laying the membrane, apply a primer to the substrate. Begin by cleaning with a dust catcher or blower, then coat thoroughly with a treatment primer. This step is vital for waterproofing, ensuring efficient dust consolidation and superior adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Carefully unroll the torch-on membrane, aligning it precisely before torching or bonding begins.
*Ensure each membrane is laid in parallel, with a staggering of at least 1 meter to prevent coinciding joints.
*The end-to-end overlaps must be alternated, never aligned along a single line for optimal integrity.
*Always start at the lowest slope height, attending to drains, downpipes, or other crucial details first.
*While torching, ensure both the membrane and the substrate are heated simultaneously, focusing particularly on the roll and overlapping areas.
*Overlaps need to be welded with precision, creating a thin trickle of melted mixture, about 1 cm wide, along the overlap line.
4.Employ a roller to firmly press down on the membrane surface, ensuring a secure and lasting adhesion.


Attention:
1. Confirm that the substrate is dry and clean. Avoid undertaking work during rainy or snowy weather conditions.
2. Refrain from working when winds are strong (above grade 5) to maintain safety and efficacy.
3. Not appropriate for construction when temperatures fall below 5°C.
4. Should rain or snow occur during construction, implementing protective measures for the laid membrane is crucial.
5. It's imperative that all personnel don special uniforms for safety, and have fire control equipment at hand during installation.


Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in environments that are dry and well-ventilated for optimal preservation.
2. Different membrane types should be stored separately to maintain quality and organization.
3. Under normal conditions, the storage duration is one year from the date of production, ensuring usability and reliability.
4. Membrane rolls should be stored vertically during transportation, protected from direct sunlight and rain to ensure integrity.
