Product Introduction
Bitumen, a distinguished material known for its dense, black, and highly viscous nature, is derived from petroleum and often referred to as asphalt. It boasts exceptional waterproofing properties, making it an integral component in the construction industry. Ideal for waterproofing applications, bituminous membranes are widely used on roofs, basements, underground structures, bridges, and a myriad of other constructions. There are primarily two pivotal techniques for applying bitumen membranes.
One prevalent method is the Torch-on technique, and the other is Self-adhesive.
Torch-on bituminous membranes offer a versatile and easy solution across all weather conditions. When CHENHUA membranes are applied, they create a seamless and watertight barrier that bonds firmly to the surface, ensuring maximum protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are widely utilized across numerous building grades for waterproofing and seepage-proofing. Suitable for both exposed and concealed areas, they protect flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.
Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure the substrate is impeccably clean, dry, and devoid of any contaminants, meticulously prepared for the utmost efficiency.
All dust and loose, friable materials should be completely removed to ensure a pristine surface.
Blowholes and voids must be fully exposed and carefully repaired for optimal results.
2. Primer:
Apply a primer before membrane application. Clean the substrate with a dust catcher or blower, then coat it thoroughly with a treatment primer to ensure effective waterproofing, dust consolidation, and enhanced adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane with precision and align it accurately before starting the torching or bonding process.
*Lay each membrane in parallel, with a staggering of at least 1 meter to avoid overlapping joints.
*Alternate the end-to-end overlaps, avoiding alignment along a single line.
*Begin at the lowest slope height, focusing on drains, downpipes, or similar details.
*During torching, heat both the membrane and substrate simultaneously, concentrating on the roll and overlapping areas for secure bonding.
*Ensure overlaps are precisely welded, creating a thin trickle of melted mixture, about 1 cm wide, along the overlap line.
4.Use a roller to press down the membrane surface firmly, ensuring a strong and secure adhesion.
Attention:
1. Confirm the substrate is dry and clean. Avoid operations during rainy or snowy weather conditions.
2. Refrain from working in high winds (exceeding grade 5).
3. Not recommended for construction in temperatures below 5°C.
4. If rain or snow occurs during construction, protective measures must be taken for the laid membrane.
5. All personnel must wear specialized uniforms for safety during installation. Fire control equipment is mandatory.

Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated areas to maintain their quality.
2. Different types of membranes should be stored separately to avoid any confusion or damage.
3. Under normal conditions, the recommended storage period is one year from the production date.
4. Store membrane rolls vertically during transit, protecting them from sunlight and rain exposure.

1) What's the popular size for Torch-on bitumen membrane?
-3mm x 1m x 10m with a PE or sand granular surface on top.
-Sized perfectly at 4mm x 1m x 10m, this membrane is available with an exquisite PE or sand granular top, catering to varying design preferences and functional needs.
2) What's the fundamental difference between SBS and APP?
-SBS and APP are meticulously engineered modifiers that enhance the functionality of waterproof membranes. SBS modifiers are exceptional in boosting cold resistance, making them indispensable for icy climates. Conversely, APP modifiers excel in amplifying heat resistance, perfect for hotter conditions. Although they share a visual resemblance, the enhancements they provide are distinctly unique.
