Product Introduction
Bitumen, often revered as asphalt, is a dense, black, highly viscous liquid or semi-solid derived from petroleum. Renowned for its exceptional waterproofing abilities, it is a cornerstone material in the construction industry. Bituminous membranes are the ultimate choice for waterproofing endeavors across a range of applications, including roofs, basements, underground structures, bridges, and beyond. Primarily, there are two distinguished application techniques for bitumen membranes that promise reliability and efficiency.
One is the Torch-on method, a time-tested approach, and the other is the innovative Self-adhesive method.
Torch-on bituminous membranes by CHENHUA present a versatile, straightforward solution for any weather condition. Once applied, these membranes form a seamless, watertight barrier that integrates securely with the surface, ensuring long-lasting protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are widely acclaimed and extensively utilized across various building grades. They are ideal for waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects, suited for both exposed and concealed areas. Applications encompass flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more, delivering unmatched durability.
Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure that the substrate is meticulously prepared-clean, dry, and devoid of any contaminants-to perfection.
All dust and loose, friable materials must be meticulously removed to ensure a flawless surface.
Blowholes and voids should be fully exposed and expertly repaired to prevent any future issues.
2. Primer:
Apply a primer before laying the membrane. Clean the substrate thoroughly with a dust catcher or blower, then apply a treatment primer to ensure optimal waterproofing, effective dust consolidation, and enhanced adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Carefully unroll the torch-on membrane, aligning it with precision before initiating the torching or bonding process.
*Lay each membrane in parallel, ensuring they are staggered by at least 1 meter, avoiding coinciding joints for maximum stability.
*Ensure end-to-end overlaps are alternated and never positioned along a single line for a seamless finish.
*Always start at the lowest slope height, focusing on drains, downpipes, or other critical details.
*During torching, apply heat to both the membrane and substrate simultaneously, concentrating on the roll and overlapping areas for a secure bond.
*Weld overlaps with precision, ensuring a thin trickle of melted mixture, approximately 1 cm wide, appears along the overlap line for optimal sealing.
4.Utilize a roller to firmly press down the membrane surface, ensuring a secure and lasting adhesion.
Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate is dry and clean; avoid construction on rainy or snowy days to maintain quality.
2. Avoid working in heavy winds (above grade 5) to ensure safety and precision.
3. This product is not suitable for construction below 5°C, as optimal conditions are essential.
4. In the event of rain or snow during construction, protect the laid membrane with appropriate measures to prevent damage.
5. All personnel must wear specialized uniforms for safety during installation, and fire control equipment must be on hand.

Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated conditions to maintain their integrity.
2. Store different membrane types separately to avoid any complications or damage.
3. Under normal conditions, the storage period for these membranes is one year from the production date, ensuring reliability.
4. Transport membrane rolls vertically, protecting them from sunlight and rain to prevent any deterioration.
