Bitumen, often hailed as asphalt, is a dense, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid marvel derived from petroleum. Renowned for its superior waterproofing capabilities, bitumen is a staple in the construction industry. Bituminous membranes stand out as the go-to solution for waterproofing roofs, basements, underground structures, bridges, and an array of other constructions. Notably, there are two principal application techniques for bitumen membranes.
One is the renowned Torch-on method, and the other is the Self-adhesive approach.
Torch-on bituminous membranes embody versatility and simplicity, making them a perfect fit for diverse weather conditions. With the application of CHENHUA membranes, a seamless and impenetrable barrier is formed, securely bonding to the surface for optimal protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are widely adopted across various building standards for projects aimed at waterproofing and seepage prevention. These membranes excel in both exposed and concealed areas, such as flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground expanses, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.

Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure that the substrate is meticulously clean, dry, and free from contaminants, achieving a flawless preparation.
All dust and loose, friable materials must be completely removed.
Blowholes and voids should be thoroughly exposed and subsequently repaired to perfection.
2. Primer:
Apply the primer before membrane placement. Clean the substrate with a dust catcher or blower and coat it comprehensively with a treatment primer to ensure superior waterproofing, effective dust consolidation, and enhanced adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Carefully unroll the torch-on membrane and align it with precision before initiating the torching or bonding process.
*Each membrane should be laid in parallel, staggered by at least 1 meter to avert coinciding joints.
*The end-to-end overlaps must be alternated and never aligned along a single line.
*Commence at the lowest slope height, addressing drains, downpipes, or other pertinent details first.
*During torching, apply heat to both the membrane and the substrate simultaneously, focusing on the roll and overlapping areas.
*Overlaps must be welded with precision, ensuring a delicate trickle of melted mixture, about 1 cm wide, emerges along the overlap line.
4.Utilize a roller to firmly press down the membrane surface, ensuring secure adhesion and a flawless finish.


Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate is dry and devoid of debris. Refrain from working on rainy or snowy days.
2. Avoid working in strong winds (above grade 5) to maintain safety and quality.
3. Not recommended for construction below 5°C due to material sensitivity.
4. If rain or snow occurs during construction, protective measures for the laid membrane are imperative.
5. All personnel must wear protective uniforms for safety during installation. Fire control equipment is an essential requirement.


Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated environments for optimal preservation.
2. Different membrane types should be stored separately to maintain integrity.
3. Under normal conditions, the storage period is one year from the production date, ensuring long-lasting quality.
4. Membrane rolls must be stored vertically during transportation and shielded from sunlight and rain to prevent damage.
