Bitumen, also known as asphalt, is a dense, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid derived from petroleum. Renowned for its exceptional waterproofing capabilities, it plays a crucial role in the construction industry. Bituminous membranes are the epitome of waterproofing solutions, ideal for applications on roofs, basements, underground structures, bridges, and a multitude of other constructions. Two predominant application techniques for these membranes exist.
The two techniques are the Torch-on method and the Self-adhesive method.
Torch-on bituminous membranes offer versatility and ease of application, making them perfect for any weather conditions. Once the CHENHUA membranes are applied, they create a flawless, watertight seal that is firmly anchored to the surface.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are employed extensively across various grades of construction for waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. They are suitable for both visible and hidden areas, encompassing flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, among others.

Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure that the substrate is scrupulously clean, dry, free from all impurities, and prepared flawlessly.
All dust, loose, and friable materials must be completely removed.
Blowholes and voids should be fully exposed and repaired thereafter.
2. Primer:
Before laying the membrane, apply a primer. Cleanse the substrate using a dust catcher or blower, then comprehensively coat it with a treatment primer, ensuring profound waterproofing, effective dust consolidation, and superior adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane with care, aligning it with precision before commencing torching or bonding.
*Lay each membrane parallel, with a stagger of at least 1 meter to avoid joint alignment.
*End-to-end overlaps must be staggered, never aligning on a single line.
*Begin at the lowest slope height, starting with drains, downpipes, or other specific areas.
*During torching, apply heat to both the membrane and the substrate, particularly around the roll and overlap sections.
*Weld overlaps with precision, ensuring a thin stream of melted mixture, about 1 cm wide, along the overlap line.
4.Utilize a roller to press down firmly on the membrane surface, ensuring secure adhesion.


Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate is dry and clean. Refrain from working on rainy or snowy days.
2. Avoid working in strong winds (exceeding grade 5).
3. Not advisable for construction in temperatures below 5°C.
4. If rain or snow occurs during the installation, protective measures for the laid membrane are critical.
5. All personnel must wear special safety uniforms during installation, and fire control equipment is mandatory.


Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in a dry, well-ventilated environment.
2. Different types of membranes should be stored separately.
3. Under normal conditions, the storage period extends up to one year from the production date.
4. During transportation, membrane rolls should be stored vertically and shielded from sunlight and rain.
