Product Introduction
Bitumen, widely recognized in the industry as asphalt, is a dense, black, and notably viscous liquid or semi-solid derived from petroleum. Renowned for its exceptional waterproofing capabilities, it is a staple in the construction sector. Bituminous membranes are the preferred choice for waterproofing applications in roofs, basements, underground structures, bridges, and a multitude of other construction projects. There are predominantly two main techniques employed for the application of bitumen membranes.
These are the Torch-on method and the Self-adhesive method.
Torch-on bituminous membranes offer a versatile and efficient solution, adaptable to all weather conditions. Once CHENHUA membranes are applied, they create a continuous, watertight seal securely bonded to any surface, ensuring lasting protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are extensively utilized across various construction grades for both waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. Effective in both exposed and concealed areas, they are suitable for flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and beyond.
Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure that the substrate is immaculately clean, dry, and absolutely free from all contaminants, prepared with utmost precision.
Every speck of dust and loose or friable materials must be thoroughly removed.
Blowholes and voids should be fully exposed and then meticulously repaired.
2. Primer:
Apply primer before laying the membrane. Clean the substrate using a dust catcher or blower, then coat it thoroughly with a treatment primer to guarantee waterproofing, ensuring effective dust consolidation and optimized adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Carefully unroll the torch-on membrane, aligning it with precision before initiating torching or bonding.
*Lay each membrane in parallel, staggered by at least 1 meter to avoid coinciding joints.
*Ensure end-to-end overlaps are alternated and never aligned along a single line.
*Always start at the lowest slope height, beginning with drains, downpipes, or other details.
*During torching, simultaneously heat both the membrane and the substrate, particularly focusing on the roll and overlapping areas.
*Weld overlaps with precision, ensuring a thin trickle of melted mixture, approximately 1 cm wide, emerges along the overlap line.
4.Use a roller to firmly press down the membrane surface, ensuring a robust adhesion.
Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate remains dry and clean. Avoid construction on rainy or snowy days.
2. Refrain from working under strong winds (above grade 5).
3. Avoid construction when the temperature is below 5°C.
4. If rain or snow occurs during construction, protective measures for the laid membrane are essential.
5. All personnel must wear specialized uniforms for safety during installation. Fire safety equipment is imperative.

Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated conditions to maintain quality.
2. Different types of membranes must be stored separately to prevent damage.
3. Under standard conditions, the storage period is one year from the production date.
4. During transportation, membrane rolls should be stored vertically and shielded from sunlight and rain.
