Product Introduction
Bitumen, also known as asphalt, is a robust, black, and highly viscous substance derived from petroleum, renowned for its outstanding waterproofing capabilities. Extensively employed in the construction sector, bituminous membranes are the go-to solution for waterproofing roofs, basements, underground structures, bridges, and a myriad of other constructions. These membranes are typically applied through two main techniques.
The two primary application techniques are the Torch-on method and the Self-adhesive method.
The torch-on bituminous membranes offer a flexible and straightforward waterproofing solution suitable for any climate. When CHENHUA membranes are expertly applied, they create a seamless, watertight shield that firmly adheres to the surface, ensuring long-lasting protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are widely adopted across various building grades for comprehensive waterproofing and seepage-proofing. Apt for both exposed and hidden areas, their applications span flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and much more.
Application Method:
1. Substrate Preparation:
Ensure the substrate is immaculately clean, dry, and devoid of any contaminants, primed to perfection for optimal results.
Thoroughly remove all dust and loose materials that could compromise the membrane's effectiveness.
Expose and repair all blowholes and voids to ensure a flawless application surface.
2. Primer Application:
Apply a primer before laying down the membrane. Clean the substrate with a dust catcher or blower, then coat it with a comprehensive treatment primer to enhance waterproofing, consolidate dust, and boost adhesion.
3. Membrane Placement:
*Carefully unroll and position the torch-on membrane precisely before commencing the torching or bonding process.
*Each membrane should be arranged parallelly, staggered by at least 1 meter to avoid overlap coinciding.
*Alternate the end-to-end overlaps, never aligning them along a single line to prevent weak points.
*Begin at the lowest slope height, prioritizing areas like drains, downpipes, or other critical details.
*During the torching process, simultaneously heat both the membrane and the substrate, paying attention to the roll and overlapping areas for an even bond.
*Ensure overlaps are meticulously welded, with a slight trickle of melted mixture, approximately 1 cm wide, visible along the overlap line for optimal sealing.
4. Finalizing the Membrane Application:Use a roller to press down on the membrane surface firmly, ensuring a strong, secure adhesion for the long term.
Attention to Detail:
1. The substrate must remain dry and clean throughout. Avoid operations on rainy or snowy days to maintain quality.
2. Refrain from working under heavy wind conditions (above grade 5) to ensure safety and optimal application.
3. Construction is not advisable when temperatures drop below 5°C, as it may affect the membrane's performance.
4. In case of rain or snow during application, take protective measures to safeguard the laid membrane.
5. Ensure all personnel are equipped with special uniforms to maintain safety during installation, with fire control equipment readily available.

Packing and Shipping Guidelines:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated environments to preserve their quality and effectiveness.
2. Different types of membranes should be stored separately to prevent any cross-contamination or damage.
3. Under optimal conditions, the storage period extends to one year from the production date, ensuring reliability.
4. During transportation, store membrane rolls vertically and shield them from direct sunlight and rain to maintain integrity.

1) What is the popular size for Torch-on bitumen membrane?
-3mm x 1m x 10m with either a PE or sand granular top for versatile application.
-4mm x 1m x 10m with PE or sand granular top, offering tailored adaptability and superior protection for diverse applications.
2) What's the fundamental difference between SBS and APP?
-SBS and APP are specialized modifiers tailored to significantly enhance the performance of waterproof membranes. SBS modifiers provide exceptional improvement in cold resistance, making them an optimal choice for environments with lower temperatures. On the other hand, APP modifiers are designed to strengthen the heat resistance of membranes. While these modifiers may share a similar outward appearance, the unique functional enhancements they offer are distinctly different and highly advantageous.
