Product Introduction
Bitumen, commonly referred to as asphalt, is a highly viscous, sticky, black liquid or semi-solid derived from petroleum. Renowned for its exceptional waterproofing abilities, it is extensively utilized in construction. Bituminous membranes are ideal for waterproofing roofs, basements, underground structures, bridges, and more. There are predominantly two application methods for bitumen membranes, each tailored to specific needs.
The two primary methods are Torch-on and Self-adhesive.
Torch-on bituminous membranes are a versatile and straightforward solution suitable for all seasons. Upon application, CHENHUA bituminous membranes form an impervious, seamless layer that adheres completely to the surface, ensuring exceptional waterproofing performance.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are extensively used across various building waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects, both in exposed and concealed locations. These applications include flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground areas, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.
Application method:
1. Substrate Preparation:
Ensure that the substrate is meticulously clean, dry, free from contaminants, and properly prepared for optimal adhesion.
Remove all dust and loose, friable materials to achieve a pristine surface.
Expose and repair any blow holes and voids thoroughly to ensure a smooth application.
2. Primer Application:
Before laying the membrane, apply a primer. Remove dust from the substrate using a dust catcher or blower, then thoroughly paint with a treatment primer to enhance waterproofing and ensure high adhesive efficacy.
3. Membrane Placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane and precisely align it before proceeding with torching or bonding.
*Each membrane must be laid parallel and staggered by at least 1 meter to prevent overlapping joints from coinciding.
*Ensure end-to-end overlaps are alternated and never aligned along a single line for maximum effectiveness.
*Commence installation from the lowest point of the slope, prioritizing areas with drains, downpipes, or other detailed sections.
*During torching, simultaneously heat the membrane and substrate, focusing on the roll and overlapping areas to ensure a secure bond.
*Meticulously weld the overlaps until a thin trickle of melted mixture, approximately 1 cm wide, is visible along the overlap line for a tight seal.
4. Securing:Firmly use a roller to press the membrane surface, ensuring an unwavering bond with the substrate.
Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate remains dry and clean. Avoid working in rainy or snowy conditions.
2. Refrain from working in conditions with heavy wind (over 5 grade).
3. Avoid construction when temperatures fall below 5°C.
4. Protect the laid membrane with appropriate measures if rain or snow occurs during construction.
5. Workers must wear specialized uniforms for safety, and essential fire control equipment should be on hand during installation.

Packing and Shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, ventilated conditions to maintain integrity.
2. Different membrane types should be stored separately to avoid cross-contamination.
3. Under standard conditions, the shelf life is one year from the production date.
4. Transport membrane rolls vertically, ensuring they are kept away from direct sunlight and rainwater to prevent damage.
