Product Description
Bitumen, also known as asphalt, is a sticky, black and highly viscous liquid orsemi-solid form of petroleum.Thanks to its waterproofng qualities, it is widely used in construction. Bituminous membranes are perfect for waterproofng roofs, basements below-ground structures, bridges and other structures. There are mainly 2 different application methods of bitumen membranes.
One is Torch-on, another is Self adhesive
Torch-on bituminous membranes are an effective, easy and simple product for all seasons. Once applied, CHENHUA bituminous membranes are a thin layer of watertight material, that is fully-bonded to the surface.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membrane are widely applied on different grades of building waterproofing & seepage-proofing projects ,both for exposed and unexposed places, such as, flat roof, slope roof, underground, tunnel, bridge, parking lot, reservoir etc.
Application method:
1.Substrate :
Ensure that the substrate is clean, dry and free of all contaminants and correctly prepared.
All dust and loose friable material must be removed.
Blow holes and voids should be fully exposed then repaired.
2.Primer:
Painting primer before laying the membrane, clean the dust on the substrate with dust catcher or dust-blower; then paint entirely with treatment primer for waterproofing (for purpose of dust consolidation and high adhesive effect).
3.Membrane place:
*Unroll the torch-on and align it before torching or bonding.
*Each membrane must be laid parallel to each other and must be staggered by at least 1 m to avoid coinciding joints.
*The end-to-end overlaps must always be alternate, never arranged along a single line.
*Always start on the lowest height of the slope and with the drains, the downpipes or other details.
*The torching of the rolls must heat the membrane and the substrate at the same time, concentrating on the roll and the overlapping.
*The overlaps must be welded with great care until a trickle of melted mixture about 1 cm wide can be seen coming out along the line of the overlap
4.Use a roller to push hard the membrane surface to ensure it stick firmly.
Attention:
1.The substrate should be dry and clean. Do not work in the rainy or snowy day.
2.Do not work under heavy wind(above 5 grade).
3.Unsuitable for construction below 5°C.
4.If it is rain or snow in the process of construction, protective measure to the laid membrane is must.
5.All the workers should put on special uniforms to keep safe when installing. Equipment are necessary for fire controls.
Packing and shipping:
1. Membranes should be stored under dry and ventilated conditions.
2. Different types of membranes must be piled separately.
3. Under usual condition, storage period is one year since production date.
4. Membrane roll should be put vertically during transportation. It should be kept away from sunshine and rainwater.

2)What's the difference between SBS and APP ?
-SBS and APP are modifier to modify the membrane performance ,SBS modifier can increase the cold resistance of waterproof membrane which are suitable for cold places. APP modifier can increase the hot resistance of waterproof membrane. Their appearances looks the same.
