Bitumen, often referred to as asphalt, is a sticky, black, highly viscous liquid or semi-solid form of petroleum. Renowned for its exceptional waterproofing capabilities, it is a staple in construction. Bituminous membranes are ideally suited for waterproofing roofs, basements, substructures, bridges, and more. There are primarily two application techniques for these membranes.
The two methods are Torch-on and Self-adhesive.
Torch-on bituminous membranes offer a versatile, user-friendly solution for any season. Once in place, CHENHUA bituminous membranes form a seamless, watertight barrier, fully bonded to the application surface.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are extensively utilized in various building waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects, both for exposed and unexposed areas such as flat roofs, slope roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, and reservoirs.

Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure the substrate is meticulously clean, dry, and devoid of contaminants, with proper preparation.
It is crucial to remove all dust and any loose, friable material.
Thoroughly expose and repair any blow holes and voids.
2. Primer:
Apply a primer before laying the membrane. Clean the substrate with a dust catcher or blower; then apply a comprehensive treatment primer for waterproofing, ensuring dust consolidation and heightened adhesive properties.
3. Membrane placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane and align accurately before torching or bonding.
*Position each membrane parallel to one another, ensuring they are staggered by at least 1 meter to prevent coinciding joints.
*End-to-end overlaps must always alternate, never aligning along a continuous line.
*Begin at the lowest slope point, focusing on areas with drains, downpipes, or other details.
*During torching, simultaneously heat the membrane and substrate, focusing on the roll and overlaps.
*Weld overlaps with precision until a thin bead of melted material, approximately 1 cm wide, emerges alongside the overlap line.
4.Utilize a roller to firmly press the membrane surface, ensuring a secure bond.


Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate is dry and clean. Avoid working during rain or snow.
2. Refrain from work in strong winds (above level 5).
3. Construction is unsuitable in temperatures below 5°C.
4. Should rain or snow occur during construction, protective measures for the laid membrane are essential.
5. Workers must wear specialized uniforms for safety during installation. Fire control equipment is necessary.


Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in a dry, ventilated environment.
2. Separate different membrane types during storage.
3. Typically, the storage period is one year from the date of production.
4. Transport membrane rolls vertically, away from direct sunlight and rain.
