Bitumen, also known as asphalt, is a versatile, viscous material derived from petroleum, renowned for its superior waterproofing capabilities. This makes it a prime choice in construction applications. Bituminous membranes, with their impressive durability, are ideal for waterproofing roofs, basements, below-ground structures, bridges, and more. There are primarily two innovative methods to apply these membranes.
The first method is Torch-on, while the second is Self-adhesive.
Torch-on bituminous membranes stand out as simple yet highly effective solutions for any climate. Once expertly applied, CHENHUA's membranes transform into a seamless, watertight barrier that bonds perfectly with the surface, offering robust protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are extensively applied across various building waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. Suitable for both exposed and concealed areas, they are perfect for flat or sloped roofs, underground areas, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.

Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure the substrate is meticulously clean, dry, free from all contaminants, and properly prepared for optimal adhesion.
All dust and any loose, friable materials must be thoroughly removed.
Blow holes and voids should be fully exposed and meticulously repaired.
2. Primer:
Prior to membrane installation, apply a primer. Clean the substrate's dust with a dust catcher or blower, then coat it entirely with a treatment primer for waterproofing, ensuring dust consolidation and superior adhesive performance.
3. Membrane placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane and align it precisely before initiating the torching or bonding process.
*Each membrane should be laid parallel and staggered by at least 1 meter to prevent aligned joints.
*Ensure end-to-end overlaps are alternated, avoiding alignment along a single line.
*Begin at the lowest slope height, near drains, downpipes, or other detailed areas.
*When torching the rolls, apply heat to both the membrane and substrate simultaneously, focusing on the roll and the overlapping areas.
*Carefully weld the overlaps until a 1 cm wide trickle of melted material emerges along the overlap line, indicating a secure bond.
4.Use a roller to firmly press the membrane surface to ensure it adheres securely.


Attention:
1. The substrate must be dry and clean. Avoid working in rainy or snowy weather.
2. Refrain from working under strong winds (above grade 5).
3. Unsuitable for construction in temperatures below 5°C.
4. If rain or snow occurs during construction, protective measures must be implemented for the laid membrane.
5. All personnel should wear specialized uniforms for safety during installation. Fire control equipment is essential.


Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated conditions to maintain quality.
2. Different membrane types should be stored separately to avoid confusion.
3. Under standard conditions, the storage period is one year from the production date.
4. During transportation, membrane rolls should be stored vertically and protected from sunlight and rain.
