Product Introduction
Bitumen, often lauded as the construction industry's liquid gold, is a dense, black, and highly viscous material derived from petroleum. Renowned for its unparalleled waterproofing capabilities, it is a staple in the construction realm. Bituminous membranes are the quintessential choice for waterproofing roofs, basements, underground structures, bridges, and a multitude of other applications. Primarily, there are two principal techniques for applying bitumen membranes that ensure optimal performance and durability.
The first technique is the Torch-on method, while the second is Self-adhesive.
Torch-on bituminous membranes provide a versatile and straightforward solution for weatherproofing in any climate. When CHENHUA membranes are applied, they create a seamless, watertight barrier that is firmly bonded to the surface, ensuring long-lasting protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are used universally across diverse building grades for waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. Perfect for both exposed and concealed areas, they are ideal for flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and beyond.
Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure that the substrate is impeccably clean, dry, and devoid of all contaminants, prepared to perfection for optimum adhesion.
All dust and loose, friable materials must be meticulously removed to ensure a flawless surface.
Blowholes and voids should be fully exposed and diligently repaired to prevent future issues.
2. Primer:
Before membrane application, apply a primer. Clean the substrate thoroughly with a dust catcher or blower, then coat it with a treatment primer for effective waterproofing, enhancing dust consolidation and improving adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Carefully unroll the torch-on membrane, aligning it precisely before beginning the torching or bonding process.
*Each membrane must be laid in parallel, staggered by at least 1 meter to avoid coinciding joints.
*Ensure end-to-end overlaps are alternated, never aligned along a single line, to maintain integrity.
*Start at the lowest slope height, focusing initially on drains, downpipes, or other detailing.
*During torching, simultaneously heat the membrane and substrate, paying special attention to roll and overlap areas.
*Overlaps must be welded with precision, with a thin trickle of melted mixture, about 1 cm wide, manifesting along the overlap line.
4.Employ a roller to firmly press down the membrane surface, ensuring secure adhesion to the substrate.
Attention:
1. Confirm the substrate is dry and clean. Avoid working during rainy or snowy conditions.
2. Avoid working in strong winds (above grade 5) to ensure safety and effectiveness.
3. Construction is not recommended in temperatures below 5°C.
4. If precipitation occurs during construction, protect the laid membrane with appropriate measures.
5. All personnel must wear specialized uniforms for safety during installation. Fire control equipment is essential on-site.

Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated environments to maintain quality.
2. Different membrane types should be stored separately to prevent contamination.
3. Under normal conditions, the storage period is one year from the date of production.
4. During transportation, membrane rolls should be stored vertically and protected from sunlight and rain to prevent damage.

1) What are the popular sizes for Torch-on bitumen membrane?
-3mm x 1m x 10m with PE or sand granular top, offering excellent coverage and protection.
-4mm x 1m x 10m with PE or sand granular top, providing enhanced durability and performance.
2) What's the fundamental difference between SBS and APP?
-SBS and APP are uniquely crafted modifiers specifically designed to significantly enhance the performance of waterproof membranes. SBS modifiers are renowned for their exceptional ability to vastly improve the cold resistance of waterproof membranes, rendering them perfect for chilly and cold environments. Conversely, APP modifiers are expertly formulated to greatly enhance the heat resistance of waterproof membranes, ensuring durability even under high temperature conditions. Though they may appear identical, the functional enhancements they offer are distinct and powerful.
