Bitumen, widely recognized as asphalt, is a dense, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid derived from petroleum. Celebrated for its exceptional waterproofing properties, it is extensively utilized across the construction industry. Bituminous membranes shine as the ideal choice for waterproofing applications on roofs, basements, underground structures, bridges, and a variety of other constructions. Primarily, there are two distinguished techniques for the application of bitumen membranes.
The first is the innovative Torch-on method, and the second is the efficient Self-adhesive technique.
Torch-on bituminous membranes offer a versatile and straightforward solution for diverse weather conditions. Upon application of the CHENHUA membranes, they create a seamless, watertight barrier securely bonded to the surface, ensuring robust protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are extensively employed across various building grades for waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. Ideal for both exposed and concealed areas, these versatile membranes cover flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and beyond.

Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure the substrate is meticulously clean, dry, and free from all contaminants, prepared to perfection for optimal application.
All dust and loose, friable materials must be rigorously eradicated.
Blowholes and voids should be fully exposed and meticulously repaired thereafter.
2. Primer:
Apply a primer before laying the membrane. Clean the substrate with a dust catcher or blower and then thoroughly coat it with a treatment primer. This ensures impeccable waterproofing, effective dust consolidation, and enhanced adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Carefully unroll the torch-on membrane and align it with precision before initiating torching or bonding.
*Each membrane should be laid in parallel, staggered by at least 1 meter to avoid coinciding joints.
*End-to-end overlaps must be alternated, avoiding alignment along a single line.
*Always start at the lowest slope height, focusing on drains, downpipes, or other intricate details.
*During torching, heat both the membrane and substrate simultaneously, concentrating on the roll and overlapping areas.
*Overlaps must be welded with precision, ensuring a thin trickle of melted mixture, about 1 cm wide, appears along the overlap line.
4.Utilize a roller to firmly press down the membrane surface, ensuring a secure and lasting adhesion.


Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate is both dry and clean. Avoid undertaking work on rainy or snowy days.
2. Refrain from performing work in heavy winds (above grade 5).
3. Not suitable for construction activities below 5°C.
4. In case of rain or snow during construction, it is crucial to implement protective measures for the laid membrane.
5. Safety is paramount; all personnel must wear special uniforms during installation. Availability of fire control equipment is essential.


Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated environments.
2. Different types of membranes must be stored separately to preserve quality.
3. Under normal conditions, the storage period is one year from the date of production.
4. Membrane rolls should be stored vertically during transportation and shielded from sunlight and rain.
