Bitumen, universally recognized as asphalt, is a dense, dark, and impressively viscous liquid or semi-solid derived from petroleum. Renowned for its remarkable waterproofing abilities, bitumen is an integral material in construction projects globally. Bituminous membranes serve as ideal waterproofing solutions, adeptly protecting roofs, basements, below-ground structures, and bridges. Two principal methods are commonly employed for applying bitumen membranes.
The primary application methods are Torch-on and Self-adhesive.
Torch-on bituminous membranes are an exceptionally effective and straightforward product suitable for all seasons. Once applied, CHENHUA bituminous membranes create a seamless, impervious layer that is fully adhered to the surface, ensuring optimal protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are extensively utilized across various levels of building waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. They are suitable for both exposed and concealed locations including flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground areas, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.

Application Method:
1. Substrate Preparation:
Ensure the substrate is impeccably clean, thoroughly dry, and free of any contaminants, with appropriate preparatory measures taken.
All dust and loose, friable materials must be meticulously removed.
Blow holes and voids should be fully exposed for effective repair.
2. Primer Application:
Before membrane installation, apply a primer coating. Clear dust on the substrate using a vacuum or blower, then uniformly apply a treatment primer for dust consolidation and enhanced adhesion.
3. Membrane Placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane and align it carefully before the torching or bonding process.
*Ensure each membrane is laid parallel, maintaining a stagger of at least 1 meter to prevent joint alignment.
*End-to-end overlaps must be staggered, never arranged along a single line.
*Begin from the lowest point of the slope, ensuring proper alignment with drains, downpipes, and other details.
*During torching, simultaneously heat the membrane and substrate, focusing on the roll and overlap areas.
*Carefully weld the overlaps until a thin bead of melted material, approximately 1 cm wide, emerges along the overlap line.
4.Apply firm pressure with a roller to ensure the membrane adheres securely to the surface.


Attention:
1. The substrate must be dry and clean. Avoid working on rainy or snowy days.
2. Do not undertake work when strong winds (above force 5) are present.
3. Construction is unsuitable in temperatures below 5°C.
4. If rain or snow occurs during construction, protective measures for the laid membrane are essential.
5. All workers must wear specialized uniforms for safety during installation. Necessary fire control equipment should be available.


Packing and Shipping:
1. Store membranes under dry, well-ventilated conditions.
2. Different types of membranes should be stored separately.
3. Under standard conditions, storage period is one year from the production date.
4. During transportation, membrane rolls should stand vertically, away from sunlight and rainwater.
