Bitumen, more commonly known as asphalt, is an exceptionally dense, dark, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid product derived from petroleum. Acclaimed for its extraordinary waterproofing capabilities, bitumen is widely used within the construction industry for its reliable sealing properties. Bituminous membranes excel in waterproofing applications across a range of structures, including roofs, basements, subterranean constructions, bridges, and beyond. Generally, there are two distinct application methods for these membranes.
The first method is the Torch-on technique, while the second is the Self-adhesive approach.
Torch-on bituminous membranes stand as a versatile, user-friendly solution designed to withstand all weather conditions. Upon applying the exceptional CHENHUA membranes, they integrate into a flawless, impermeable barrier firmly secure to the surface.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes serve as a trusted choice in a multitude of building grades for both waterproofing and seepage prevention projects. Their adaptability makes them suitable for both exposed and concealed settings, including flat and sloped roofs, underground environments, tunnels, bridges, parking structures, reservoirs, and further applications.

Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure that the substrate is painstakingly clean, thoroughly dry, and completely free from any contaminants, prepared to the highest standard.
Meticulously remove all dust and any loose, friable materials.
Expose and repair all blowholes and voids completely to guarantee a smooth application.
2. Primer:
Apply a primer before laying the membrane. Clean the substrate meticulously using a dust catcher or blower, then coat it thoroughly with a treatment primer, ensuring superior waterproofing, effective dust consolidation, and enhanced adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Gently unroll the torch-on membrane, aligning it accurately before beginning the torching or bonding process.
*Lay each membrane in parallel, staggering them by at least 1 meter to avoid coinciding joints and ensure optimal coverage.
*Alternate the end-to-end overlaps, avoiding alignment along a single line to maintain the integrity of the seal.
*Begin at the lowest slope height, prioritizing areas like drains, downpipes, or other critical details.
*During the torching process, ensure both the membrane and the substrate are heated simultaneously, with particular attention to the roll and overlapping areas.
*Weld overlaps with precision, ensuring a slender trickle of melted mixture, approximately 1 cm wide, is visible along the overlap line.
4.Utilize a roller to assertively press down the membrane surface, ensuring robust adhesion and a perfect seal.


Attention:
1. Confirm the substrate is thoroughly dry and clean. Avoid operations on rainy or snowy days.
2. Avoid working in conditions with heavy winds (above force grade 5).
3. Construction is not recommended when temperatures drop below 5°C.
4. Should rain or snow occur during construction, it is vital to take protective measures for the laid membrane.
5. All installation personnel must wear specialized safety uniforms, and fire control equipment is a necessity.


Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated environments to preserve their quality.
2. Different types of membranes should be stored separately to avoid any undesired cross-contamination.
3. Under standard conditions, the storage period extends to one year from the production date.
4. During transportation, membrane rolls should be stored vertically and shielded from direct sunlight and rain.
