Product Introduction
Bitumen, commonly referred to as asphalt, is an incredibly thick, black, and viscous liquid or semi-solid created from petroleum. Renowned for its superior waterproofing capabilities, this material is extensively employed in the construction sector. Bituminous membranes are perfectly suited for waterproofing tasks on roofs, basements, subterranean structures, bridges, and a wide array of other constructions. There are primarily two prominent techniques for applying bitumen membranes.
The first is the Torch-on method, and the second is the Self-adhesive method.
Chenhua's Torch-on bituminous membranes offer a versatile and user-friendly waterproofing solution, suitable for diverse weather conditions. When applied, these membranes form an unbroken, watertight barrier, adhering securely to the surface.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are widely utilized across various building standards for waterproofing and seepage-proofing initiatives. They are ideal for both visible and hidden areas, including flat and sloped roofs, underground regions, tunnels, bridges, parking areas, reservoirs, and much more.
Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure the substrate is scrupulously clean, dry, and devoid of any contaminants, achieving a pristine condition.
All dust and loose, friable materials should be meticulously removed.
Blowholes and voids must be fully revealed and then adequately repaired.
2. Primer:
Apply primer prior to membrane installation. Use a dust catcher or blower to clean the substrate and then thoroughly coat with treatment primer, ensuring optimal waterproofing, effective dust binding, and enhanced adhesive properties.
3. Membrane placement:
*Carefully unroll the torch-on membrane and align it with precision before commencing the torching or bonding process.
*Lay each membrane in parallel, staggered by at least 1 meter to avoid overlapping joints.
*End-to-end overlaps should be alternated, never positioned in a single line.
*Always start from the lowest slope height, focusing on drains, downpipes, or other specifics.
*During torching, simultaneously heat both the membrane and substrate, concentrating on the roll and overlap areas.
*Ensure overlaps are welded with accuracy, producing a slender flow of melted mixture, about 1 cm wide, visible along the overlap line.
4.Employ a roller to firmly press the membrane surface, ensuring robust adhesion.
Attention:
1. Confirm the substrate is thoroughly dry and clean. Avoid work on rainy or snowy days.
2. Refrain from working in strong winds (over grade 5).
3. Not suitable for construction in temperatures below 5°C.
4. If rain or snow occurs during installation, protect the applied membrane accordingly.
5. All personnel must wear specialized uniforms for safety during installation. Fire safety equipment is mandatory.

Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated environments.
2. Different types of membranes should be stored separately.
3. Under standard conditions, the storage lifespan is one year from the production date.
4. During transport, store membrane rolls vertically and shield from sunlight and rain.

1) What's the popular size for Torch-on bitumen membrane?
-3mm x 1m x 10m with PE or sand granular top.
-Proudly offering dimensions of 4mm x 1m x 10m, this high-quality membrane comes with your choice of a refined PE or a textured sand granular top, providing versatility and superior protection for your waterproofing needs.
2) What's the fundamental difference between SBS and APP?
-SBS and APP are advanced modifiers meticulously engineered to elevate membrane performance. SBS modifiers greatly enhance cold resistance, making these membranes exceptional for colder climates. Conversely, APP modifiers are dedicated to boosting heat resistance, allowing the membranes to withstand hotter environments. While they share a similar appearance, each modifier offers unique functional enhancements that significantly improve performance in varying conditions.
