Bitumen, often referred to as asphalt, is a highly adhesive, black, and ultra-viscous liquid or semi-solid derivative of petroleum. Due to its exceptional waterproofing properties, it has become a staple in construction projects. Bituminous membranes are the epitome of waterproofing solutions for roofs, basements, subterranean structures, bridges, and a plethora of other constructions. Primarily, there are two prevalent application techniques for bitumen membranes.
The first method is Torch-on, while the second is Self-adhesive.
Torch-on bituminous membranes represent an excellent, straightforward, and user-friendly solution for year-round waterproofing. Once expertly applied, CHENHUA's bituminous membranes transform into a thin, impermeable barrier that seamlessly bonds to the surface, ensuring lasting protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are extensively utilized across a myriad of building waterproofing and seepage-proofing endeavors, suitable for both exposed and concealed areas like flat roofs, sloped roofs, subterranean settings, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.

Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ascertain that the substrate is impeccably clean, thoroughly dry, devoid of contaminants, and meticulously prepared for application.
All dust and loose, friable materials must be meticulously eradicated.
Ensure blow holes and voids are completely exposed, then proceed with necessary repairs.
2. Primer:
Before membrane application, apply a primer. Use a dust catcher or blower to cleanse the substrate, then uniformly coat with waterproofing treatment primer to consolidate dust and enhance adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane, ensuring perfect alignment prior to torching or bonding.
*Each membrane should be aligned parallel, staggered by a minimum of 1 meter to avoid joint coincidence.
*End-to-end overlaps must always alternate and never align along a singular line.
*Commence from the lowest point of the slope, focusing on drains, downpipes, and additional details.
*When torching, simultaneously heat both the membrane and substrate, concentrating on the roll and its overlap.
*Ensure overlaps are meticulously welded until a visible trickle of melted mixture, approximately 1 cm wide, emerges along the overlap line.
4.Employ a roller to exert firm pressure on the membrane surface, guaranteeing a secure and steadfast bond.


Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate remains dry and pristine. Refrain from working in rainy or snowy conditions.
2. Avoid working under strong winds exceeding grade 5.
3. Construction is inadvisable in temperatures below 5°C.
4. If rain or snow intervenes during construction, ensure protective measures are in place for the laid membrane.
5. Workers must wear specialized uniforms for safety during installation. Fire control equipment is essential.


Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated environments.
2. Segregate different types of membranes when stacking.
3. Typically, the storage period is up to one year from the production date.
4. During transport, position membrane rolls vertically, keeping them shielded from sunlight and rain.
