Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are the definitive choice for waterproofing and seepage-proofing across varied building categories. Whether for surfaces exposed to the elements or hidden areas, these membranes excel, safeguarding flat and sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and beyond.
Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure the substrate is immaculate, perfectly dried, and free from contaminants, prepared impeccably for application.
All dust and any loose or friable materials must be thoroughly cleared away.
Blowholes and voids should be fully revealed and expertly filled thereafter.
2. Primer:
Prior to membrane placement, apply primer with meticulous care. Clean the substrate using a dust catcher or blower, then apply a treatment primer to boost waterproofing, ensuring efficient dust consolidation and superior adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane with precision, aligning it perfectly before commencing the torching or bonding procedure.
*Lay each membrane in parallel, ensuring an offset of at least 1 meter to prevent coinciding joints, thus maximizing stability.
*Interspersing the end-to-end overlaps is vital, avoiding alignment along a single line to enhance structural integrity.
*Commence at the lowest slope elevation, prioritizing critical areas like drains, downpipes, or other essential details.
*During torching, heat both membrane and substrate simultaneously, concentrating on the roll and overlapping zones for a robust bond.
*Weld overlaps with precision to ensure a neat trickle of melted mix, about 1 cm wide, along the overlap line, achieving a flawless finish.
4.Utilize a roller to firmly press the membrane surface, ensuring impeccable adhesion that withstands the test of time.
Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate is dry and clean. Avoid undertaking work on rainy or snowy days for optimal results.
2. Refrain from working in winds exceeding grade 5 to maintain safety and quality.
3. Halt construction if the temperature dips below 5°C.
4. If rainfall or snow occurs during construction, safeguarding the installed membrane is crucial to preserving quality.
5. All personnel must don specified safety uniforms, and fire control equipment is essential during installation.
Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in a dry, well-ventilated area to maintain their quality.
2. Different membrane types should be stored separately to prevent any form of mixing.
3. Under optimal conditions, storage duration can extend up to one year from the production date.
4. To ensure optimal preservation during transportation, membrane rolls must be stored in an upright position, shielded meticulously from both the sun's rays and rain.
