Bitumen, commonly identified as asphalt, is a dense, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid derived from petroleum, known for its exceptional waterproofing capabilities. It finds extensive application in the construction industry due to these properties. Bituminous membranes serve as the perfect solution for waterproofing roofs, basements, underground structures, bridges, and various other constructions. Primarily, two application techniques exist for bitumen membranes, ensuring adaptability across different building needs.
The two distinguished methods are the Torch-on technique and the Self-adhesive technique, each offering unique advantages.
Torch-on bituminous membranes provide a versatile and straightforward waterproofing solution suitable for all weather conditions. Upon application, CHENHUA membranes create a seamless and impenetrable barrier that firmly adheres to any surface, ensuring long-lasting protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are widely used across diverse building grades for comprehensive waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. Perfect for both exposed and concealed areas, they are applicable to flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and beyond.

Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure that the substrate is impeccably clean, dry, and devoid of any contaminants, prepared to absolute perfection.
All dust and any loose, friable materials must be entirely removed.
All blowholes and voids should be fully exposed and expertly repaired to guarantee optimum results.
2. Primer:
Before membrane placement, apply a primer. Cleanse the substrate using a dust catcher or blower, and then apply a treatment primer thoroughly to ensure an effective waterproof layer and enhanced adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Gently unroll the torch-on membrane and align it accurately before beginning the torching or bonding process.
*Lay each membrane parallel, staggered by a minimum of 1 meter to avoid overlapping joints.
*Alternate end-to-end overlaps to ensure they're not aligned on the same line.
*Initiate at the lowest slope height, focusing first on drains, downpipes, or other detailed areas.
*While torching, simultaneously heat both the membrane and substrate, concentrating on the roll and overlap areas.
*Precisely weld overlaps, ensuring a thin line of melted material, about 1 cm wide, appears along the overlap.
4.Use a roller to press down the membrane surface firmly, ensuring it adheres securely and durably.


Attention:
1. Verify the substrate is dry and spotless. Avoid working in rainy or snowy conditions.
2. Avoid working when strong winds prevail (above grade 5).
3. Unsuitable for construction in temperatures below 5°C.
4. Should rain or snow occur during construction, protect the laid membrane diligently.
5. All personnel must be equipped with specialized uniforms for safety; fire control equipment is crucial.


Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated conditions, ensuring optimal preservation.
2. Differentiate and store various membrane types separately to maintain quality.
3. Typically, membranes can be stored for up to one year from the date of production under standard conditions.
4. During transportation, store membrane rolls vertically and shield them from sunlight and rain to preserve integrity.
