Product Introduction
Bitumen, often better known as asphalt, is a dense, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid derived from petroleum. Revered for its outstanding waterproofing properties, it is extensively used in the construction industry. Bituminous membranes are deemed ideal for waterproofing applications on roofs, basements, underground structures, bridges, and many other constructions. Primarily, two main application techniques dominate the use of bitumen membranes.
One method is the Torch-on technique, while the other is Self-adhesive.
Torch-on bituminous membranes offer a versatile and straightforward solution for diverse weather conditions. When CHENHUA membranes are applied, they create a seamless, watertight barrier that securely bonds to the surface, ensuring protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes find extensive applications across various building grades for waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. Suitable for both exposed and concealed areas, their use extends to flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.
Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure the substrate is meticulously clean, dry, and devoid of any form of contaminants, ready in perfect condition.
All dust and loose, friable materials must be thoroughly eradicated, leaving a pristine surface.
Blowholes and voids should be fully exposed and subsequently repaired for optimal application.
2. Primer:
Prior to laying the membrane, apply a primer. Clean the substrate using a dust catcher or blower, then coat it thoroughly with a treatment primer, guaranteeing waterproofing, effective dust consolidation, and enhanced adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Carefully unroll the torch-on membrane and align it precisely before commencing torching or bonding.
*Each membrane should be laid in parallel, staggered by at least 1 meter to avoid coinciding joints.
*End-to-end overlaps must be alternated, never positioned along a single line.
*Always start at the lowest slope height, beginning with drains, downpipes, or other details.
*During torching, simultaneously heat both the membrane and the substrate, focusing on the roll and overlapping areas.
*Overlaps must be welded with precision, ensuring a thin trickle of melted mixture, approximately 1 cm wide, appears along the overlap line.
4.Use a roller to firmly press down the membrane surface, ensuring secure adhesion and a flawless finish.
Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate is dry and clean. Avoid working on rainy or snowy days to maintain quality.
2. Refrain from working in heavy winds (above grade 5) to ensure safety and effectiveness.
3. Construction is not suitable under temperatures below 5°C.
4. If rain or snow occurs during construction, it's crucial to implement protective measures for the laid membrane.
5. All personnel must wear special uniforms for safety during installation. Fire control equipment is a necessity.

Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated conditions to maintain their integrity.
2. Different membrane types must be stored separately to prevent cross-contamination.
3. Under normal conditions, the storage period is one year from the production date, ensuring long-lasting quality.
4. Membrane rolls should be stored vertically during transportation and protected from sunlight and rain to avoid damage.
