Bitumen, a renowned construction material, is a sticky, black, highly viscous liquid or semi-solid form of petroleum. Celebrated for its exceptional waterproofing capabilities, it serves as a cornerstone in construction. Bituminous membranes, crafted for excellence, provide impeccable waterproofing solutions for roofs, basements, below-ground infrastructures, bridges, and numerous other structures. These membranes offer two primary application techniques.
The first method is Torch-on, and the second is Self-adhesive.
Torch-on bituminous membranes are versatile, efficient, and user-friendly, suitable for all seasons. Once applied, CHENHUA bituminous membranes form a thin, watertight barrier that adheres seamlessly to the surface, ensuring robust protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are extensively used across various grades of building waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. They are ideal for both exposed and concealed areas, including flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, and reservoirs.

Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure the substrate is meticulously clean, thoroughly dry, free from all contaminants, and correctly prepared for optimal adhesion.
All dust and any loose, friable material must be comprehensively removed.
Blow holes and voids should be completely exposed and meticulously repaired.
2. Primer:
Apply a primer before laying the membrane. Clean any residual dust from the substrate using a dust catcher or blower; then apply a treatment primer uniformly to enhance waterproofing through dust consolidation and superior adhesive effects.
3. Membrane Placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane and carefully align it before proceeding with torching or bonding.
*Each membrane must be laid parallel and staggered by at least 1 meter to prevent coinciding joints, ensuring optimal integrity.
*The end-to-end overlaps should always alternate, avoiding linear arrangement for maximum durability.
*Installation should commence from the lowest point of the slope, prioritizing drains, downpipes, or other detailed areas for enhanced coverage.
*During torching, simultaneously heat the membrane and substrate, focusing on the roll and the overlaps for perfect adhesion.
*Meticulously weld the overlaps until a visible trickle of melted mixture, around 1 cm wide, appears along the overlap line, signifying a secure bond.
4.Use a roller to apply firm pressure to the membrane surface, ensuring it adheres securely and forms an unyielding bond.


Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate is dry and clean. Refrain from working in rainy or snowy conditions to maintain quality.
2. Avoid working in conditions with strong winds exceeding grade 5 for safety and precision.
3. Construction should not proceed in temperatures below 5°C to prevent material compromise.
4. In the event of rain or snow during construction, implement protective measures for the laid membrane to preserve its integrity.
5. Workers must wear specialized uniforms for safety during installation. Equipments for fire control are essential for a secure working environment.


Packing and Shipping:
1. Membranes must be stored in dry, well-ventilated conditions to maintain their quality.
2. Different membrane types should be stored separately to avoid cross-contamination.
3. Under typical conditions, the storage period is one year from the date of production, ensuring peak performance.
4. During transportation, membrane rolls should be stored vertically, protected from sunlight and rainwater to safeguard their quality.
