Bitumen, often referred to as asphalt, is a dense, dark, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid derived from petroleum. Renowned for its superior waterproofing properties, it is a staple in construction. Bituminous membranes serve as the ideal solution for waterproofing roofs, basements, below-ground structures, bridges, and a variety of other edifices. There are primarily two prevalent methods of applying bitumen membranes.
One method is Torch-on, while the other is Self-adhesive.
Torch-on bituminous membranes boast effectiveness and simplicity for all seasons. Upon application, CHENHUA bituminous membranes form an impermeable, durable layer fully bonded to the surface, ensuring long-lasting protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membrane finds extensive use across various grades of building waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. Suitable for both exposed and concealed areas, applications span flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground settings, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.

Application Method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure the substrate is impeccably clean, thoroughly dry, free from all contaminants, and correctly prepared.
All dust and loose, friable materials must be effectively removed.
Blow holes and voids should be fully exposed and meticulously repaired.
2. Primer:
Apply a primer meticulously before laying the membrane. Clean the substrate using a dust catcher or blower, then uniformly coat with a treatment primer to assure dust consolidation and high adhesive performance.
3. Membrane Placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane and align it correctly before torching or bonding.
*Lay each membrane parallel and stagger them by at least 1 meter to avoid joint alignment.
*Alternate end-to-end overlaps, never align them along a single line.
*Begin application from the lowest slope height, focusing on areas like drains, downpipes, and other details.
*During torching, simultaneously heat both the membrane and the substrate, concentrating on the roll and overlaps.
*Weld the overlaps carefully until a trickle of melted bitumen, roughly 1 cm wide, appears along the overlap line.
4.Employ a roller to firmly press the membrane surface, ensuring robust adhesion.


Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate is dry and clean. Avoid work during rainy or snowy conditions.
2. Refrain from working in heavy winds (above 5 grade).
3. The product is unsuitable for construction below 5°C.
4. If rain or snow occurs during construction, implement protective measures for the laid membrane.
5. Workers must wear specialized uniforms for safety during installation. Fire control equipment is essential.


Packing and Shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, ventilated conditions.
2. Different membrane types must be stored separately.
3. Under normal conditions, the storage period is one year from the production date.
4. Transport membrane rolls vertically, keeping them shielded from sunlight and rainwater.
