Bitumen, recognized as asphalt, is a sticky, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid form of petroleum. Celebrated for its unparalleled waterproofing capabilities, bitumen is extensively employed in construction projects. Bituminous membranes stand out as the ideal solution for waterproofing roofs, basements, below-ground structures, bridges, and a variety of other infrastructures. There are primarily two distinct application methods for bitumen membranes.
The methods include Torch-on and Self-adhesive
Torch-on bituminous membranes represent a highly efficient, user-friendly product suitable for all seasons. Once applied, CHENHUA bituminous membranes become a seamless, watertight barrier that fully adheres to the surface.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membrane is extensively applied across diverse building waterproofing and seepage-proofing endeavors. These applications include both exposed and concealed areas such as flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.

Application method:
1. Substrate Preparation:
Ensure that the substrate is impeccably clean, thoroughly dry, free of contaminants, and appropriately prepared for optimal results.
All dust and loose friable material must be meticulously removed to guarantee a clean surface.
Blow holes and voids should be fully exposed and meticulously repaired to ensure a flawless substrate.
2. Primer Application:
Apply a primer before laying the membrane; remove dust from the substrate using a dust catcher or blower, then evenly apply a treatment primer for enhanced waterproofing, dust consolidation, and superior adhesion.
3. Membrane Placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane and align it precisely before torching or bonding it in place.
*Each membrane must be laid parallel to one another and staggered by at least 1 meter to prevent joint alignment.
*Ensure end-to-end overlaps are always alternate and never aligned along a single line.
*Commence installation from the lowest slope height, incorporating drains, downpipes, or other features.
*During torching, simultaneously heat the membrane and substrate, focusing on the roll and overlaps for optimal bonding.
*Diligently weld the overlaps until a trickle of melted mixture, approximately 1 cm wide, emerges along the overlap line.
4. Final Bonding:Employ a roller to firmly apply pressure across the membrane surface, ensuring robust adhesion.


Attention:
1. The substrate must remain dry and clean; avoid undertaking work during rainy or snowy weather.
2. Do not proceed with installation in strong winds exceeding 5 grade.
3. Construction is deemed unsuitable when temperatures fall below 5°C.
4. In the event of rain or snow during construction, protective measures for the installed membrane are essential.
5. Installation personnel must wear specialized uniforms for safety and have appropriate fire control equipment on hand.


Packing and Shipping Guidelines:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated conditions for optimal preservation.
2. Distinct types of membranes should be stacked separately to maintain organization.
3. Under normal circumstances, the storage period is one year from the date of production.
4. During transportation, membrane rolls should be positioned vertically and shielded from sunlight and rain.
