Bitumen, a marvel of natural engineering, also known in the industry as asphalt, is a sticky, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid derivative of petroleum. Its unparalleled waterproofing attributes make it indispensable in the construction sector. Bituminous membranes, renowned for their protective prowess, serve as the quintessential solution for waterproofing roofs, basements, subterranean structures, bridges, and a plethora of other edifices. There are chiefly two pivotal methods for applying these membranes.
One is the Torch-on method, while the other is Self-adhesive.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes find extensive application across a diverse array of building waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects, equally suited for both exposed and concealed environments. Whether applied to flat or sloped roofs, underground structures, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, or reservoirs, these membranes deliver robust, reliable performance.

Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure the substrate is immaculate, thoroughly dried, and devoid of contaminants, prepared to perfection for the forthcoming application.
Eliminate all dust and any loose, friable materials.
Fully expose blow holes and voids, then meticulously repair them.
2. Primer:
Prior to laying the membrane, engage in primer application: dust off the substrate with a dust catcher or blower, then uniformly apply a treatment primer to consolidate dust and achieve superior adhesion for waterproofing.
3. Membrane placement:
*Carefully unroll the torch-on membrane, aligning it precisely before initiating the torching or bonding process.
*Ensure each membrane is laid parallel, staggering them by at least 1 meter to prevent joint overlap.
*Always alternate end-to-end overlaps instead of aligning them along a single line.
*Commence installation from the lowest point of the slope, integrating with drains, downpipes, or other crucial details.
*During torching, simultaneously heat both the membrane and substrate, focusing on the roll and overlaps for optimal adhesion.
*Meticulously weld overlaps until a 1 cm wide trickle of melted bitumen emerges along the overlap line, indicating a secure bond.
4.Employ a roller to exert firm pressure across the membrane surface, ensuring a steadfast bond is achieved.


Attention:
1. The substrate must be dry and clean. Avoid operations on rainy or snowy days.
2. Refrain from working under strong winds (exceeding 5 grade).
3. Construction is inadvisable in temperatures below 5°C.
4. In case of rain or snow during construction, protective measures are essential for the installed membrane.
5. Workers must don specialized uniforms for safety during installation, with appropriate fire safety equipment on hand.


Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated conditions.
2. Segregate different types of membranes when stacking.
3. Under normal circumstances, membranes have a storage life of one year post-production.
4. During transit, membrane rolls should be placed vertically and protected from sunlight and rain.
