Product Introduction
Bitumen, often referred to as asphalt, is a sticky, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid form of petroleum. Celebrated for its exceptional waterproofing properties, it finds extensive use in the construction industry. Bituminous membranes, crafted from this remarkable material, offer optimal waterproofing solutions for roofs, basements, subterranean structures, bridges, and a host of other constructions. Two primary application techniques exist for bitumen membranes.
The first is the Torch-on method, followed by the Self-adhesive approach.
Torch-on bituminous membranes by CHENHUA present a highly effective, user-friendly, and adaptable solution for all seasons. When applied, these membranes form a seamless, watertight barrier that fully bonds to the surface, ensuring robust protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membrane is extensively utilized in a variety of building waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. These versatile membranes are suitable for both exposed and concealed spaces, including flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground areas, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.
Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure the substrate is impeccably clean, dry, and devoid of contaminants, with proper preparation.
All dust and loose, friable materials must be thoroughly removed.
Exposed blow holes and voids should be fully addressed and repaired.
2. Primer:
Prior to membrane placement, apply a primer. Utilize a dust catcher or blower to cleanse the substrate of dust, followed by a complete application of the treatment primer for enhanced waterproofing and adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Carefully unroll the torch-on membrane and align it accurately before commencing the torching or bonding process.
*Membranes should be laid parallel and staggered by at least 1 meter to prevent joint alignment.
*End-to-end overlaps must be alternated, avoiding a single continuous line.
*Begin installation at the lowest point of the slope, around drains, downpipes, or other pertinent details.
*Simultaneously heat the membrane and substrate during torching, focusing on the roll and overlap areas.
*Ensure overlaps are expertly welded, creating a visible 1 cm wide trickle of melted mixture along the overlap line.
4.Employ a roller to firmly press the membrane surface, ensuring a secure bond.
Attention:
1. The substrate must remain dry and clean. Avoid working on rainy or snowy days.
2. Refrain from work during strong winds (exceeding 5 grade).
3. Construction should not be undertaken when temperatures are below 5°C.
4. If rain or snow occurs during construction, protective measures for the laid membrane are imperative.
5. All workers must wear safety uniforms during installation, and appropriate fire control equipment is essential.

Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in a dry, well-ventilated environment.
2. Different membrane types should be stored separately.
3. Under normal circumstances, the storage period is one year from the production date.
4. During transportation, membrane rolls should remain upright, protected from direct sunlight and rain.

1) What is the popular size for Torch-on bitumen membrane?
- 3mm x 1m x 10m with a PE or sand granular top finish.
- 4mm x 1m x 10m with a PE or sand granular top finish.
2) What's the difference between SBS and APP?
- SBS and APP are innovative modifiers designed to enhance the performance of waterproof membranes. The SBS modifier significantly boosts the cold resistance of the membrane, making it ideal for use in chilly environments. On the other hand, the APP modifier enhances the membrane's ability to withstand heat, perfect for warmer climates. Despite these advanced modifications, both types of membranes share a similar appearance.
