Bitumen, often recognized as asphalt, is a dense, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid derived from petroleum. Known for its exceptional waterproof qualities, bitumen is a cornerstone in the construction industry. Bituminous membranes offer ideal solutions for waterproofing on roofs, basements, underground structures, bridges, and various other constructions. The primary application techniques for these versatile membranes include two main methods.
The Torch-on method and the Self-adhesive method.
Torch-on bituminous membranes present a versatile and easy solution for ensuring protection against all weather conditions. Once CHENHUA membranes are expertly applied, they create a continuous, watertight barrier that adheres securely to any surface.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes find widespread use across diverse building projects for both waterproofing and seepage-proofing. Perfect for exposed and concealed areas alike, they are suitable for flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.

Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure the substrate is meticulously clean, dry, and impeccably free from contaminants, ready for flawless application.
All dust and loose, friable materials must be painstakingly removed.
Blowholes and voids should be thoroughly exposed and repaired with precision.
2. Primer:
Apply primer prior to membrane installation. Clean the substrate using a dust catcher or blower, then apply a comprehensive coat of treatment primer for maximum waterproofing, enhancing dust consolidation and adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Carefully unroll the torch-on membrane, aligning it precisely before beginning torching or bonding.
*Lay each membrane in parallel, with at least a 1-meter stagger to avoid coinciding joints.
*Alternate end-to-end overlaps, ensuring they never align in a single line.
*Begin at the lowest slope height, starting with drains, downpipes, or other detailed areas.
*During torching, simultaneously heat both the membrane and the substrate, focusing on the roll and overlapping sections.
*Precisely weld overlaps to ensure a narrow strip of melted mixture, approximately 1 cm wide, appears along the overlap line.
4.Employ a roller to thoroughly press the membrane surface, ensuring secure and lasting adhesion.


Attention:
1. Confirm that the substrate is dry and clean. Avoid working during rainy or snowy weather.
2. Refrain from work during strong winds (above grade 5).
3. Not suitable for construction in temperatures below 5°C.
4. In the event of rain or snow during construction, protect the laid membrane thoroughly.
5. All installation personnel must wear specialized uniforms for safety, and fire control equipment is a must.


Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated areas.
2. Different types of membranes must be stored separately to maintain integrity.
3. Under typical conditions, membranes can be stored for up to one year from the date of production.
4. During transportation, membrane rolls should be stored vertically and protected from sunlight and rain.
