Product Introduction
Bitumen, often recognized as asphalt, is a thick, black, and impressively viscous liquid or semi-solid derived from petroleum. Renowned for its extraordinary waterproofing capacity, it is widely employed within the construction industry. Bituminous membranes are exceptionally suited for waterproofing applications on roofs, basements, subterranean structures, bridges, and a myriad of other constructions. Principally, two predominant application techniques are utilized for bitumen membranes.
One renowned application method is the Torch-on technique, while the other is the Self-adhesive approach.
Torch-on bituminous membranes provide a versatile and uncomplicated solution regardless of weather conditions. Once applied, CHENHUA membranes create a seamless, watertight barrier that adheres securely to the surface beneath.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are extensively implemented across a wide range of construction grades for projects involving waterproofing and seepage-proofing. They are ideal for both visible and concealed areas, including flat and sloped roofs, subterranean spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking areas, reservoirs, among others.
Application Method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure the substrate is meticulously clean and dry, devoid of all contaminants, and prepared to perfection.
All dust and loose, friable materials must be thoroughly removed.
Exposed blowholes and voids should be fully repaired.
2. Primer:
Apply a primer before membrane placement. Clean the substrate using a dust catcher or blower, then coat it thoroughly with a treatment primer. This ensures waterproofing, effective dust consolidation, and improved adhesion.
3. Membrane Placement:
*Carefully unroll the torch-on membrane, aligning it with precision before beginning the torching or bonding process.
*Lay each membrane in parallel, ensuring they are staggered by at least 1 meter to avoid joints coinciding.
*End-to-end overlaps must be alternated, never aligning along the same line.
*Always begin from the lowest slope height, prioritizing drains, downpipes, or similar details.
*During the torching process, heat both the membrane and the substrate together, focusing on rolling and overlapping sections.
*Overlaps must be welded with precision, ensuring a trickle of melted mixture, approximately 1 cm wide, appears along the overlap line.
4.A roller should be used to firmly press down the membrane surface, ensuring secure adhesion.
Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate is dry and clean; avoid working under rainy or snowy conditions.
2. Avoid working during strong winds (above grade 5).
3. Not suitable for construction activities in temperatures below 5°C.
4. Should rain or snow occur during construction, protect the laid membrane adequately.
5. Installation personnel must wear specific uniforms for safety, and fire control equipment is indispensable.

Packing and Shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated spaces.
2. Different membrane types must be stored separately to prevent cross-contamination.
3. Under standard conditions, the storage duration is up to one year from the date of production.
4. During transportation, membrane rolls should be stored vertically, safeguarded against sunlight and rain.

2) What's the fundamental difference between SBS and APP?
Key Modifiers Overview: SBS and APP are two distinct modifiers used to elevate the performance of waterproof membranes. SBS (Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene) is engineered to dramatically enhance the cold resistance of membranes, making it particularly suitable for environments prone to lower temperatures. Conversely, APP (Atactic Polypropylene) is designed to augment the heat resistance, perfect for applications in hotter climates. While they may appear similar in form, their functional capabilities are tailored to different environmental challenges, offering unique advantages based on specific climatic needs.
