Product Introduction
Bitumen, often recognized as asphalt, is a dense, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid derived from petroleum. Renowned for its exceptional waterproofing properties, it plays an indispensable role in the construction industry. Bituminous membranes offer a superb solution for waterproofing applications on roofs, basements, underground structures, bridges, and various other constructions. Primarily, there are two prominent application techniques for these membranes.
One is the Torch-on method, renowned for setting new standards in waterproofing, and the other is the Self-adhesive technique, known for its convenience and efficiency.
Torch-on bituminous membranes present a versatile and straightforward solution for all weather conditions. Once CHENHUA membranes are applied, they create a seamless, watertight barrier that bonds securely to every surface it touches.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are widely used across numerous building grades for both waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. Their versatility is unparalleled, being suitable for exposed and concealed areas alike, including flat and sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, and reservoirs, among others.
Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure that the substrate is meticulously clean, dry, and free from all forms of contaminants, prepared to an immaculate degree.
All dust and loose, friable materials must be thoroughly eradicated to achieve a pristine surface.
Blowholes and voids should be fully exposed and subsequently repaired to maintain surface integrity.
2. Primer:
Apply a primer before laying the membrane. Clean the substrate meticulously with a dust catcher or blower and then apply a treatment primer thoroughly to ensure optimal waterproofing, effective dust consolidation, and enhanced adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Carefully unroll the torch-on membrane and align it precisely before initiating the torching or bonding process.
*Each membrane must be placed parallel, staggered by at least 1 meter to circumvent coinciding joints.
*End-to-end overlaps must be alternated, never aligned along a single line to prevent issues.
*Always begin at the lowest slope height, focusing on drains, downpipes, or other crucial details.
*During torching, simultaneously heat both the membrane and the substrate, concentrating on the roll and overlapping areas for uniform adhesion.
*Overlaps must be welded meticulously, ensuring a thin trickle of melted mixture, about 1 cm wide, appears along the overlap line for optimal sealing.
4.Utilize a roller to firmly press down the membrane surface, ensuring a secure and robust adhesion.
Attention:
1. Ensure that the substrate is dry and clean. Avoid working on rainy or snowy days to maintain integrity.
2. Avoid construction in heavy winds (above grade 5) to ensure safety and precision.
3. Not recommended for construction in temperatures below 5°C to preserve material quality.
4. If rain or snow occurs during construction, protective measures for the laid membrane are crucial.
5. All personnel must wear special uniforms for safety during installation. Fire control equipment is a must-have for safety.

Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated conditions to maintain quality.
2. Different membrane types must be stored separately to avoid any cross-contamination.
3. Under normal conditions, the storage period is one year from the production date to ensure product efficacy.
4. Membrane rolls should be stored vertically during transportation and must be protected from sunlight and rain to preserve their quality.

1) What's the popular size for Torch-on bitumen membrane?
-3mm x 1m x 10m with PE or sand granular top, providing optimal coverage and protection.
-4mm x 1m x 10m with PE or sand granular top.
2) What's the fundamental difference between SBS and APP?
-SBS and APP are specialized modifiers designed to enhance membrane performance. SBS, known for its exceptional ability to boost cold resistance, ensures that the waterproof membranes remain durable and effective, even in the chilliest of environments, making it a perfect choice for colder climates. On the other hand, APP modifiers are crafted to significantly augment the heat resistance of waterproof membranes, providing unmatched durability in warmer conditions. Though they may appear similar, the unique functional enhancements of SBS and APP set them distinctly apart.
