Bitumen, often revered as asphalt, stands as a dense, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid born from petroleum. Celebrated across industries for its exceptional waterproofing prowess, it plays a pivotal role in construction. Bituminous membranes are the premier choice for waterproofing roofs, basements, subterranean structures, bridges, and a plethora of other edifices. Two predominant application techniques dominate the use of bitumen membranes.
The first is the Torch-on method, and the second is the Self-adhesive technique.
Torch-on bituminous membranes are the epitome of versatility, providing a straightforward, weather-resistant solution. Upon application of the CHENHUA membranes, they create a seamless, watertight barrier, expertly bonded to the surface.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes find extensive use across various construction grades for waterproofing and seepage-proofing endeavors. Perfect for both exposed and concealed areas, including flat roofs, sloped roofs, subterranean spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and beyond.
Application Method:
1. Substrate Preparation:
Ensure the substrate is immaculately clean, dry, and devoid of contaminants, achieving a flawless surface.
All dust and loose, friable materials must be scrupulously removed.
Blowholes and voids should be entirely exposed and then diligently repaired.
2. Primer Application:
Apply primer before membrane installation. Clean the area with a dust catcher or blower, then coat with a treatment primer for superior waterproofing, ensuring dust control and enhanced adhesion.
3. Membrane Placement:
*Gently unroll the torch-on membrane, aligning it meticulously before commencing torching or bonding.
*Each layer should be laid in parallel, staggered by a minimum of 1 meter to avoid joint overlap.
*Ensure end-to-end overlaps are staggered, avoiding alignment along a single line.
*Begin at the lowest slope height, prioritizing drains, downpipes, or other specific details.
*During torching, simultaneously heat both the membrane and substrate, focusing on the roll and overlapping areas.
*Overlaps must be precisely welded, ensuring a thin line of melted mixture, around 1 cm wide, forms along the overlap line.
4.Utilize a roller to firmly press down the membrane's surface, ensuring a robust bond.
Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate remains dry and pristine. Refrain from working during rain or snow.
2. Avoid working amid strong winds (above grade 5).
3. Unsuitable for construction below 5°C.
4. In the event of rain or snow during construction, protective measures for the installed membrane are critical.
5. All personnel must don specialized uniforms for safety, and fire control equipment is imperative during installation.

Packing and Shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated environments.
2. Different membrane types should be stored separately.
3. Under typical conditions, the storage period is one year from the production date.
4. Membrane rolls must be stored vertically during transport, shielded from sunlight and rain.
