Product Introduction
Bitumen, also commonly referred to as asphalt, is a dense, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid that is derived from petroleum. Renowned for its exceptional waterproofing capabilities, it plays an essential role in the construction industry. Bituminous membranes are the premier choice for waterproofing applications on roofs, basements, subterranean structures, bridges, and a multitude of other constructions. There are primarily two predominant methods for applying bitumen membranes.
The Torch-on method and the Self-adhesive method.
Torch-on bituminous membranes offer a versatile and uncomplicated solution, suitable for all weather conditions. When the CHENHUA membranes are applied, they create a seamless and watertight barrier, securely bonding to the surface with ease.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are extensively applied across various building grades for waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. They serve excellently for both exposed and concealed areas, covering flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and beyond.
Application Method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure that the substrate is spotlessly clean, completely dry, and free from any forms of contaminants, prepared with meticulous attention to detail.
All dust and loose, friable materials must be thoroughly eliminated.
Blowholes and voids should be fully exposed and then repaired appropriately.
2. Primer:
Apply primer before laying the membrane. Clean the substrate meticulously using a dust catcher or blower, then thoroughly coat it with a treatment primer. This step guarantees superior waterproofing, ensuring effective dust consolidation and enhanced adhesion properties.
3. Membrane Placement:
*Carefully unroll the torch-on membrane, ensuring precise alignment before commencing the torching or bonding process.
*Each membrane must be laid in parallel lines, staggered by at least 1 meter to prevent the alignment of joints.
*End-to-end overlaps must be alternated and never placed along a single line.
*Begin at the lowest slope height, starting with drains, downpipes, or other detailed areas.
*During the torching process, heat both the membrane and the substrate simultaneously, concentrating on the roll and overlapping areas.
*Ensure overlaps are welded with precision, so a thin trickle of melted mixture approximately 1 cm wide appears along the overlap line.
4.Use a roller to press down the membrane surface firmly, ensuring a secure adhesion.
Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate is dry and clean. Refrain from working on rainy or snowy days for optimum results.
2. Avoid working in heavy winds (above grade 5) to ensure safety and quality.
3. Not suitable for construction in temperatures below 5°C.
4. If rain or snow occurs during construction, protective measures for the laid membrane are absolutely crucial.
5. All personnel must wear special uniforms for safety during installation. Fire control equipment is essential and must be readily available.

Packing and Shipping:
1. Store membranes in an environment that is dry and well-ventilated to maintain quality.
2. Different types of membranes should be stored separately to prevent cross-contamination.
3. Under normal conditions, the storage period is one year from the production date.
4. Membrane rolls should be stored vertically during transportation, shielded from sunlight and rain.

1) What's the popular size for Torch-on bitumen membrane?
-3mm x 1m x 10m with PE or sand granular top.
-Our premium product specifications include: 4mm thickness, 1m width, and an extensive 10m length. Choose between an elegant PE finish or a textured sand granular top to suit your specific waterproofing needs.
2) What's the fundamental difference between SBS and APP?
-SBS and APP modifiers are uniquely engineered to enhance the superior performance of waterproof membranes. SBS modifiers excel in enhancing cold resistance, making them an exceptional choice for frigid climates. In contrast, APP modifiers are crafted to amplify heat resistance, ensuring durability in warmer environments. Both modifiers may appear similar, but their performance in varying temperatures distinguishes them significantly.
