Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are the go-to choice across a multitude of building grades for waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. They are perfect for both exposed and hidden areas such as flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and much more.
Application Method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure the substrate is impeccably clean, dry, and free from all contaminants, achieving a state of perfection.
Eliminate all dust and loose, friable materials with precision.
Expose and repair all blowholes and voids completely.
2. Primer:
Apply primer meticulously before laying the membrane. Clean the substrate using a dust catcher or blower, then coat it generously with a treatment primer to ensure optimal waterproofing, enhancing dust consolidation and adhesion.
3. Membrane Placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane with care, aligning it precisely before beginning the torching or bonding process.
*Lay each membrane in parallel, staggered by at least 1 meter to avoid coinciding joints for optimal results.
*Alternate end-to-end overlaps, ensuring they are never placed along a single line.
*Begin at the lowest slope height, focusing on areas with drains, downpipes, or other details.
*During torching, heat both the membrane and substrate concurrently, particularly focusing on the roll and overlapping areas for a flawless finish.
*Ensure overlaps are meticulously welded, creating a delicate stream of melted mixture, about 1 cm wide, along the overlap line.
4.Use a roller to firmly press down the membrane surface, ensuring secure adhesion.
Attention:
1. Confirm the substrate is dry and pristine. Avoid operations on rainy or snowy days.
2. Avoid working in strong winds (above grade 5) to ensure safety.
3. Construction is not recommended below 5°C for optimal performance.
4. In the event of rain or snow during construction, protective measures for the laid membrane are crucial.
5. Safety is paramount; ensure all personnel wear appropriate uniforms during installation. Fire control equipment is mandatory.
Packing and Shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated spaces for optimal preservation.
2. Different membrane types must be stored separately to maintain integrity.
3. Under typical conditions, the storage period extends to one year from the production date.
4. Store membrane rolls vertically during transit, and shield them from sunlight and rain for pristine condition.
