Product Introduction
Bitumen, more commonly recognized as asphalt, presents itself as a sticky, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid form of petroleum, celebrated for its exceptional waterproofing capabilities. This makes it an indispensable material in construction projects. Bituminous membranes are the epitome of perfection when it comes to waterproofing roofs, basements, below-ground structures, bridges, and a plethora of other structures. The primary methods for applying bitumen membranes are expertly categorized into two distinct approaches.
The first method is Torch-on, while the second is Self-adhesive.
Torch-on bituminous membranes provide an effective, easy-to-apply, and straightforward solution suitable for all seasons. Upon application, CHENHUA bituminous membranes create a thin, watertight layer that bonds seamlessly to the surface.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes find extensive application across a variety of building waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. They are ideal for both exposed and concealed areas, including flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground constructions, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and much more.
Application Method:
1. Substrate Preparation:
Ensure the substrate is meticulously clean, completely dry, devoid of contaminants, and perfectly prepared.
All dust, along with any loose or friable materials, must be thoroughly removed.
Blowholes and voids must be fully exposed and subsequently repaired to perfection.
2. Primer Application:
Prior to membrane installation, apply a primer layer; dust on the substrate should be efficiently removed using a dust catcher or blower. Paint the entire area with a waterproofing treatment primer to consolidate dust and ensure optimal adhesion.
3. Membrane Placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane and impeccably align it before proceeding with torching or bonding.
*Each membrane must be meticulously laid parallel to avoid coinciding joints, ensuring they are staggered by at least 1 meter.
*End-to-end overlaps must always be alternately arranged, never aligned along a single line.
*Initiate the process from the lowest point of the slope, incorporating drains, downpipes, or other necessary details.
*The torching process should simultaneously heat both the membrane and substrate, focusing specifically on the roll and overlap areas.
*Overlaps must be welded with precision until a 1 cm wide trickle of melted mixture is observed along the overlap line.
4.Employ a roller to exert firm pressure on the membrane surface, ensuring a steadfast and secure bond.
Attention:
1. The substrate must be dry and immaculate. Work should not proceed during rainy or snowy conditions.
2. Refrain from working in conditions of heavy wind exceeding 5 grade.
3. Construction is unsuitable when temperatures fall below 5°C.
4. During rain or snow, protective measures for the laid membrane are imperative to ensure its integrity.
5. Workers must don specialized uniforms for safety, and fire control equipment is a necessity during installation.

Packing and Shipping:
1. Membranes should be stored in dry, well-ventilated environments.
2. Different membrane types must be stacked separately to maintain condition.
3. Under normal conditions, the storage period is valid for one year from the production date.
4. During transportation, membrane rolls should be positioned vertically and shielded from sunlight and rain.

1) What is the popular size for Torch-on bitumen membrane?
-3mm x 1m x 10m with a PE or sand granular top surface for enhanced performance.
-4mm x 1m x 10m featuring a PE or sand granular top surface for optimal durability.
2) What's the difference between SBS and APP?
- SBS and APP are specialized modifiers designed to enhance the performance of waterproof membranes. The SBS modifier significantly boosts the cold resistance, making it ideal for applications in chilly climates. On the other hand, the APP modifier enhances the heat resistance, perfect for warmer environments. Although their appearances are quite similar, their specialized functions make each uniquely suited to specific conditions.
3) Is OEM service available?
- Absolutely! We warmly welcome OEM service requests at any time.
Please send us your logo, and we will create a custom design for you. Alternatively, you can provide us with a finished design directly. We will then print it on PE film and package it meticulously before delivering the products to you.
4) Are you a manufacturing factory?
- Yes, indeed! Shandong Chenhua Waterproof Co., Ltd. stands as a professional manufacturing factory dedicated to a wide array of waterproof materials since 1994. Our facility is strategically located in China's renowned Waterproof Town, Taitou. We offer products that cater to diverse waterproofing needs, whether for unexposed or exposed substrates.
5) What is the delivery time?
- Typically, an order is completed within 10 days after order confirmation. However, the delivery timeframe may vary based on specific requirements and order quantities.
