Bitumen, often referred to as asphalt, is a naturally occurring, viscous, black, semi-solid form of petroleum renowned for its superb waterproofing capabilities. Due to these exceptional properties, bitumen is a go-to material in the construction industry, particularly for creating impervious barriers. Bituminous membranes, crafted from this miraculous substance, offer a first-rate solution for waterproofing a myriad of structures, including roofs, basements, below-ground frameworks, bridges, and numerous other constructions. There are primarily two innovative methods of applying these highly effective bitumen membranes.
The first method is Torch-on, while the second is Self-adhesive.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are exceptionally versatile, finding widespread application across various grades of building waterproofing and seepage-proofing endeavors. These robust and resilient membranes are ideal for both exposed and concealed locations, including flat and sloped roofs, subterranean installations, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.

Application method:
1. Substrate :
Ensure that the substrate is meticulously clean, completely dry, devoid of all contaminants, and correctly prepared for optimal adhesion.
All dust particles and loose, friable materials must be thoroughly removed to facilitate a flawless application.
Blowholes and voids should be fully exposed and meticulously repaired to ensure a seamless finish.
2. Primer:
Prior to membrane application, a primer must be applied. Clean the substrate of dust using a dust catcher or blower, then thoroughly coat it with a waterproofing treatment primer to consolidate dust and enhance adhesive strength.
3. Membrane placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane carefully, ensuring correct alignment before torching or bonding.
*Each membrane should be laid parallel to one another, ensuring staggering by at least 1 meter to prevent coinciding joints.
*End-to-end overlaps must always be alternated, avoiding alignment along a single line to ensure structural integrity.
*Installation should commence from the lowest slope height, working around drains, downpipes, and other crucial details.
*Torching should simultaneously heat the membrane and substrate, focusing on the roll and the overlapping areas for a secure bond.
*Overlaps must be welded with precision until a trickle of melted mixture approximately 1 cm wide emerges along the overlap line, indicating a secure seal.
4.Utilize a roller with firm pressure on the membrane surface to guarantee a strong and lasting adhesion.


Attention:
1. The substrate must be dry and clean. Avoid installation during rainy or snowy conditions.
2. Refrain from working in strong winds exceeding 5 grade.
3. Construction is unsuitable in temperatures below 5°C.
4. Should rain or snow occur during construction, protective measures must be employed to safeguard the membrane.
5. All personnel must wear specialized uniforms for safety, with necessary fire control equipment readily available.


Packing and shipping:
1. Membranes require storage under dry, well-ventilated conditions to maintain integrity.
2. Different membrane types must be stored separately to avoid cross-contamination or damage.
3. Under typical conditions, the storage period extends up to one year from the production date.
4. During transport, membrane rolls should be kept vertical, shielded from sunlight and rainwater to prevent degradation.

- SBS and APP are specialized modifiers employed to enhance the performance of membranes. SBS, or Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene, is ideal for augmenting the cold resistance of waterproof membranes, making them perfect for colder climates. On the other hand, APP, or Atactic Polypropylene, boosts the hot resistance of the membranes, suitable for warmer environments. Despite their distinct functionalities, their appearances are quite similar.
