Product Introduction
Bitumen, also known as asphalt, is a dense, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid derived from petroleum. Renowned for its superb waterproofing abilities, it is a cornerstone in the construction industry. Bituminous membranes are perfectly suited for waterproofing tasks on roofs, basements, underground structures, bridges, and a multitude of other constructions. There are predominantly two primary methods for applying bitumen membranes.
The first technique is the Torch-on method, while the second is Self-adhesive.
Torch-on bituminous membranes are the epitome of versatility and efficiency, providing a straightforward solution adaptable to all weather conditions. Once applied, CHENHUA membranes create a seamless, watertight barrier that firmly adheres to any surface.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are extensively embraced in various building grades for waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. They are suitable for both exposed and concealed spaces, including but not limited to flat and sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, and reservoirs.
Application Method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure the substrate is immaculate, thoroughly dry, and devoid of all contaminants, prepared with absolute precision.
Eliminate all dust and loose, friable materials completely and meticulously.
Blowholes and voids must be fully revealed and subsequently repaired for optimal results.
2. Primer:
Apply a primer before membrane installation. Clean the substrate using a dust catcher or blower, then generously coat it with a treatment primer for superior waterproofing, ensuring robust dust consolidation and optimal adhesion.
3. Membrane Placement:
*Gently unroll the torch-on membrane, aligning it with precision before commencing torching or bonding.
*Lay each membrane in parallel, ensuring they are staggered by a minimum of 1 meter to avoid coinciding joints.
*End-to-end overlaps must be staggered, ensuring they are not aligned in a single line.
*Begin at the lowest slope height, focusing on drains, downpipes, or intricate details.
*During torching, apply heat to both the membrane and the substrate concurrently, concentrating on the roll and overlap areas.
*Weld overlaps with meticulous precision, ensuring a thin trickle of melted mixture, about 1 cm wide, appears along the overlap line.
4.Use a roller to firmly press down the membrane surface, ensuring secure adhesion.
Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate is pristine and dry. Avoid work in rainy or snowy weather.
2. Avoid working in strong winds (above grade 5).
3. Construction is not suitable below 5°C.
4. If rain or snow is expected during construction, protective measures for the laid membrane are crucial.
5. All personnel must wear designated uniforms for safety during installation, and fire control equipment is mandatory.

Packing and Shipping:
1. Store membranes in a dry, well-ventilated setting.
2. Different types of membranes should be stored separately to maintain quality.
3. Under standard conditions, the storage period is one year from the production date.
4. During transportation, membrane rolls should be stored vertically and shielded from sunlight and rain.

1) What's the popular size for Torch-on bitumen membrane?
- 3mm x 1m x 10m, available with either PE or sand granular top finish.
-4mm x 1m x 10m with PE or sand granular top.
2) What's the fundamental difference between SBS and APP?
-SBS and APP are specialized modifiers designed to significantly enhance the performance of waterproof membranes. SBS modifiers are renowned for their capacity to greatly improve cold resistance, making them an excellent choice for cold climates and chilly environments. Conversely, APP modifiers are tailored to bolster the heat resistance of waterproof membranes, thus serving as an exceptional solution for high-heat conditions. Although they may appear identical at first glance, the functional enhancements they provide differ tremendously.
