With two primary application techniques, Bitumen membranes are a cornerstone in the waterproofing realm.
The two popular methods of application are Torch-on and Self-adhesive.
Torch-on bituminous membranes by CHENHUA offer an adaptable and efficient solution tailored to withstand various weather conditions. Upon application, these membranes transform into a smooth, continuous barrier that bonds securely, ensuring the utmost watertight integrity.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are the epitome of reliability and strength across a multitude of building grades. They excel in waterproofing and seepage-proofing across both visible and hidden areas, including flat and sloped roofs, subterranean spaces, tunnels, and infrastructure marvels like bridges and parking structures.

Application Method:
1. Substrate Preparation:
Achieve a pristine substrate by ensuring it is immaculately clean, dry, and devoid of any contaminants, setting the stage for flawless application.
Eliminate all dust and any loose materials, leaving no room for errors.
Expose and meticulously repair any blowholes and voids, ensuring structural integrity.
2. Primer Application:
Before membrane application, prime the substrate with care. Utilize a dust catcher or blower for a clean slate, then generously coat with a treatment primer, which optimizes waterproofing and enhances adhesion by consolidating dust.
3. Membrane Placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane with precision, aligning it perfectly before embarking on the torching or bonding process.
*Carefully position each membrane in parallel, staggering them by at least 1 meter to prevent joint alignment.
*Ensure end-to-end overlaps are alternated, avoiding alignment in a single line.
*Begin at the lowest slope height, prioritizing areas such as drains and downpipes.
*During application, simultaneously heat both the membrane and substrate, focusing attentively on rolls and overlap regions.
*Skillfully weld overlaps, ensuring a delicate trickle of melted mixture, approximately 1 cm wide, forms along the overlap line.
4.Employ a roller to firmly secure the membrane, ensuring exceptional adhesion and durability.


Important Considerations:
1. Confirm that the substrate is impeccably dry and clean. Avoid installations during rainy or snowy conditions.
2. Operations should be postponed in high winds exceeding grade 5.
3. Construction is not advisable in temperatures below 5°C.
4. If inclement weather such as rain or snow arises during construction, protect the applied membrane without delay.
5. Safety first: all personnel must don designated uniforms during installation, and essential fire control equipment must be at the ready.


Packing and Shipping Guidelines:
1. Store membranes in conditions where dryness and ventilation are optimal.
2. Segregate different membrane types to avoid cross-contamination.
3. Under typical conditions, the recommended storage duration is one year post-production date.
4. During transport, ensure membrane rolls are stored vertically and are shielded from sun and rain exposure.
