There are two predominant methods of application for bitumen membranes that cater to diverse needs.
The first is the Torch-on method, and the second is Self-adhesive.
Torch-on bituminous membranes present a versatile, straightforward solution, adaptable to all weather conditions. Once applied, CHENHUA membranes form a seamless, watertight barrier that adheres securely to any surface, ensuring long-lasting protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are widely implemented across various building grades for projects requiring waterproofing and seepage-proofing. Suitable for both exposed and concealed applications, they are perfect for flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground areas, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.

Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure the substrate is immaculately clean, dry, and free from all contaminants, prepared with meticulous attention to detail.
Thoroughly eliminate all dust and loose, friable materials to ensure a pristine surface.
All blowholes and voids should be fully exposed and carefully repaired to ensure a smooth surface.
2. Primer:
Apply a high-quality primer before membrane application. Clean the substrate with a dust catcher or blower, then coat it thoroughly with a treatment primer to guarantee optimal waterproofing. This step ensures effective dust consolidation and enhanced adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane with precision and align it meticulously before initiating the torching or bonding process.
*Align each membrane in parallel, staggered by at least 1 meter to prevent joint overlap.
*Ensure that end-to-end overlaps are alternated, avoiding alignment along a single line.
*Begin installation at the lowest slope height, prioritizing drains, downpipes, or other specific details.
*During torching, apply heat to both the membrane and substrate simultaneously, focusing on the roll and overlap areas.
*Weld overlaps with meticulous care, ensuring a thin trickle of melted bitumen, approximately 1 cm wide, is visible along the overlap line.
4.Use a roller to firmly press down the membrane surface, ensuring secure and lasting adhesion.


Attention:
1. Confirm that the substrate is dry and clean. Avoid working on rainy or snowy days to ensure optimal results.
2. Avoid working in heavy winds, specifically those above grade 5, to maintain safety and precision.
3. This product is unsuitable for application in temperatures below 5°C.
4. Should rain or snow occur during construction, it is crucial to implement protective measures for the placed membrane.
5. Safety is paramount; all personnel must wear specialized uniforms during installation, and fire control equipment is a necessity.


Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated areas to preserve their quality.
2. Different membrane types must be stored separately to prevent cross-contamination and ensure integrity.
3. Under standard conditions, the storage period extends to one year from the production date, ensuring long-lasting usability.
4. During transportation, membrane rolls should be stored vertically and protected from exposure to sunlight and rain to maintain their condition.
