Bitumen, widely known as asphalt, is a highly viscous and dense black liquid, or sometimes semi-solid, derived straight from the heart of petroleum. Renowned for its unparalleled waterproofing prowess, it is a cornerstone material in the construction industry. Bituminous membranes are perfectly engineered for a multitude of waterproofing endeavors, safeguarding roofs, basements, subterranean structures, bridges, and a plethora of other constructions with ease and efficiency. There are two predominant techniques employed for applying bitumen membranes.
One is the highly efficient Torch-on method, and the other is the Self-adhesive application.
Torch-on bituminous membranes offer a flexible and user-friendly solution, capable of thriving in any weather condition. Once CHENHUA membranes are expertly applied, they transform into a flawless, seamless, and watertight shield, adhering robustly to the surface for long-lasting protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are a staple in a wide array of building projects, offering superior waterproofing and seepage-proofing capabilities. They're versatile for both open and hidden spaces, including flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground areas, tunnels, bridges, parking facilities, reservoirs, and beyond.

Application method:
1. Substrate:
The substrate must be impeccably clean, completely dry, and devoid of any contaminants, prepared to the highest standards.
Every speck of dust and any loose, friable materials should be meticulously removed.
All blowholes and voids must be fully exposed and expertly repaired.
2. Primer:
A primer should be applied before laying the membrane. Clean the substrate meticulously using a dust catcher or blower, then thoroughly coat it with a treatment primer to bolster waterproofing, ensuring both dust consolidation and enhanced adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane with precision and align accurately before commencing the torching or bonding process.
*Each membrane should be laid out in parallel, ensuring a stagger of at least 1 meter to prevent joint alignment.
*End-to-end overlaps must be staggered and never aligned in a straight line.
*Installation should begin at the lowest slope height, focusing first on drains, downpipes, or other intricate details.
*During the torching phase, simultaneously heat both the membrane and substrate, emphasizing the roll and overlapping areas.
*Overlaps must be welded with exactitude, making certain a narrow trickle of melted mixture, roughly 1 cm wide, is visible along the overlap line.
4.Use a roller to press down the membrane surface firmly, ensuring a steadfast adhesion.


Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate is both dry and immaculately clean before application. Refrain from working in the rain or snow.
2. Avoid working when winds exceed grade 5 for safety and effectiveness.
3. Unsuitable for construction in temperatures below 5°C.
4. If rain or snow occurs during construction, protective measures for the laid membrane are a must.
5. Safety first: all personnel must don special uniforms during installation, and fire control equipment is crucial.


Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in conditions that are dry and well-ventilated to maintain quality.
2. Different types of membranes must be stored separately to prevent any undesired reactions.
3. Under typical conditions, the storage period extends up to one year from the date of production.
4. During transportation, membrane rolls must be stored vertically, shielded from sunlight and rain to preserve integrity.
