Bitumen, a remarkable substance also known as asphalt, is a sticky, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid form of petroleum. Known for its exceptional waterproofing properties, bitumen is a cornerstone in the construction industry. Bituminous membranes are ideally suited for creating watertight seals on roofs, basements, below-ground structures, bridges, and more. There are two primary application methods for bitumen membranes.
One method is Torch-on, while the other is Self-adhesive.
Torch-on bituminous membranes provide a robust, efficient, and straightforward solution for all seasons. Once applied, CHENHUA bituminous membranes form a seamless, protective layer that fully bonds to the surface, ensuring enduring waterproofing.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membrane is extensively applied across a spectrum of building waterproofing and seepage-proofing endeavors, both in exposed and concealed settings. These versatile membranes are suitable for flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground projects, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and beyond.

Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure the substrate is immaculate, dry, and free from contaminants, and has been appropriately prepared for application.
Remove all dust and loose, friable materials to ensure a pristine surface.
Completely expose and repair any blow holes and voids for a smooth application.
2. Primer:
Apply a primer before laying the membrane. Clear the substrate of dust using a catcher or blower, then thoroughly coat it with a treatment primer to consolidate dust and enhance adhesion.
3. Membrane Placement:
*Unroll and align the torch-on membrane carefully before proceeding with torching or bonding.
*Lay each membrane parallel to one another, staggering by at least 1 meter to prevent coinciding joints.
*Ensure end-to-end overlaps are alternated, never aligned along the same line.
*Begin at the lowest slope height and work with drains, downpipes, or other details.
*During torching, simultaneously heat the membrane and substrate, focusing on the roll and overlaps.
*Weld overlaps meticulously until a 1 cm trickle of melted mixture emerges along the overlap line.
4.Firmly press the membrane surface with a roller to ensure a strong, lasting bond.


Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate is dry and clean. Avoid working on rainy or snowy days.
2. Refrain from working under strong winds exceeding 5 on the Beaufort scale.
3. Construction is unsuitable in temperatures below 5°C.
4. Implement protective measures if rain or snow occurs during construction to safeguard the laid membrane.
5. Workers must wear specialized uniforms for safety during installation. Fire control equipment is essential.


Packing and Shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, ventilated conditions to preserve quality.
2. Pile different membrane types separately to avoid confusion.
3. Under normal conditions, membranes can be stored for up to one year from the production date.
4. During transportation, store membrane rolls vertically, away from direct sunlight and rainwater.
