Bitumen, also known as asphalt, is a dense, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid form derived from petroleum. Renowned for its superior waterproofing capabilities, it is extensively employed in the construction sector. Bituminous membranes are the epitome of waterproofing solutions, perfect for roofs, basements, underground structures, bridges, and a plethora of other construction applications. There are primarily two application techniques for these bitumen membranes that stand out.
One is the Torch-on method and the other is Self-adhesive.
Torch-on bituminous membranes provide a versatile and straightforward solution designed to withstand all weather conditions. When CHENHUA membranes are applied, they create a seamless, watertight barrier that adheres firmly to any surface.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are prevalently employed across diverse building grades for waterproofing and seepage-proofing. They are suitable for both exposed and concealed areas, including flat and sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and beyond.
Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure the substrate is impeccably clean, dry, and devoid of all contaminants, prepared with absolute precision.
All dust and loose, friable materials must be eradicated completely.
Blowholes and voids should be fully exposed and then repaired diligently.
2. Primer:
Apply a primer before laying the membrane. Clean the substrate thoroughly with a dust catcher or blower, then coat it with a high-performance treatment primer to guarantee waterproofing, effective dust consolidation, and enhanced adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Carefully unroll the torch-on membrane, aligning it precisely before commencing torching or bonding.
*Every membrane should be laid in parallel, staggered by at least 1 meter to avoid coinciding joints.
*The end-to-end overlaps must be alternated, never aligning along a single line.
*Always start at the lowest slope height, focusing initially on drains, downpipes, or other detailed areas.
*During torching, apply heat simultaneously to both the membrane and substrate, focusing on the roll and overlapping areas.
*Overlaps must be welded with precision, ensuring a delicate trickle of melted mixture, about 1 cm wide, trails along the overlap line.
4.Utilize a roller to press the membrane surface firmly, ensuring secure adhesion.
Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate remains dry and clean. Avoid operations on rainy or snowy days.
2. Refrain from working during heavy winds exceeding grade 5.
3. The product is unsuitable for construction in temperatures below 5°C.
4. If rain or snow occurs during construction, take protective measures for the laid membrane.
5. All personnel must wear specialized safety uniforms during installation. Fire control equipment is essential for safety.

Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry and well-ventilated conditions for optimal preservation.
2. Different membrane types must be stored separately to maintain integrity.
3. Under normal conditions, the storage period is up to one year from the production date.
4. During transportation, membrane rolls should be stored vertically and shielded from sunlight and rain.
