Product Introduction
Bitumen, which is also popularly referred to as asphalt, is a sticky, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid form of petroleum. Due to its outstanding waterproofing properties, it is extensively utilized in the construction industry. Bituminous membranes are ideal for waterproofing roofs, basements, below-ground structures, bridges, and other infrastructural marvels. There are primarily two distinct application techniques for bitumen membranes, enhancing their versatility and adaptability in construction.
These techniques include: Torch-on and Self-adhesive application methods, each offering unique benefits to suit various project needs.
Torch-on bituminous membranes are an efficient, straightforward, and user-friendly solution for all seasons. Once these exceptional CHENHUA bituminous membranes are applied, they form a thin, watertight layer that is thoroughly bonded to the surface, providing unparalleled protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes find their applications across various building grades, effectively addressing waterproofing and seepage-proofing needs for both exposed and concealed locations. These include flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and much more, showcasing their immense utility.
Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure the substrate is meticulously clean, dry, and free of any contaminants, with proper preparation a priority.
All dust and loose, friable material must be thoroughly removed to maintain optimal conditions.
Any blow holes or voids should be fully exposed and diligently repaired to ensure a pristine substrate.
2. Primer:
Apply primer before laying the membrane. Clean the substrate dust with a dust catcher or blower; then apply a comprehensive primer treatment for waterproofing, ensuring dust consolidation and superior adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane and align it carefully before the torching or bonding process.
*Each membrane should be laid parallel to one another and staggered by at least 1 meter to prevent the alignment of joints.
*Ensure the end-to-end overlaps are alternated, never aligned along a single line for maximum efficiency.
*Always begin at the lowest point of the slope, focusing on drainage points, downpipes, and other critical details.
*The torching process must simultaneously heat the membrane and substrate, focusing attention on the roll and overlap areas for optimal adhesion.
*The overlaps must be welded with precision until a trickle of melted mixture, about 1 cm wide, is visible along the overlap line, signifying a successful bond.
4.Utilize a roller to firmly press the membrane surface, ensuring it adheres securely and effectively.
Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate is dry and clean. Avoid working on rainy or snowy days to prevent complications.
2. Refrain from working under conditions of heavy wind (above grade 5) to ensure safety and quality.
3. Construction is unsuitable in temperatures below 5°C, as it may impact the integrity of the membrane.
4. In the event of rain or snow during construction, implement protective measures for the laid membrane to maintain its condition.
5. All personnel should wear specialized uniforms for safety during installation. Essential equipment for fire control must be at the ready.

Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes under dry and well-ventilated conditions to preserve their quality and performance.
2. Different membrane types should be stacked separately to maintain organization and prevent mix-ups.
3. Under typical conditions, the storage period is one year from the production date, ensuring usability.
4. During transportation, membrane rolls should be positioned vertically, shielded from direct sunlight and rainwater to avoid damage.
