Bitumen, commonly recognized as asphalt, is a dense, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid form of petroleum. Renowned for its impeccable waterproofing properties, it is extensively utilized in the construction sector. Bituminous membranes are the ideal solution for waterproofing roofs, basements, below-ground structures, bridges, and a myriad of other structures. There are primarily two distinct methods for applying bitumen membranes.
One is Torch-on, and the other is Self-adhesive.
Torch-on bituminous membranes provide an efficient, easy, and straightforward solution suitable for all seasons. Once applied, CHENHUA bituminous membranes form a thin, impenetrable layer of watertight material that bonds seamlessly to the surface.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membrane is extensively utilized across various levels of building waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects, applicable to both exposed and concealed areas, including flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground structures, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.

Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure the substrate is pristine, dry, free from contaminants, and well-prepared.
All dust and loose friable materials must be completely cleared.
Blow holes and voids should be fully revealed and subsequently repaired.
2. Primer:
Apply the primer before laying the membrane, ensuring the substrate is dust-free using a dust catcher or blower; then coat thoroughly with a treatment primer for optimal dust consolidation and superior adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane and align it precisely before proceeding with torching or bonding.
*Position each membrane in parallel alignment, maintaining at least a 1-meter stagger to prevent coinciding joints.
*End-to-end overlaps should be alternated, never aligned along a single line.
*Begin installation from the lowest point of the slope, focusing on drains, downpipes, or other specific details.
*During the torching process, heat both the membrane and the substrate simultaneously, concentrating on the roll and the overlaps.
*Meticulously weld the overlaps until a small bead of melted mixture, approximately 1 cm wide, appears along the overlap line.
4.Use a roller to firmly press the membrane surface, ensuring a secure bond.


Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate is dry and clean. Avoid working in rainy or snowy conditions.
2. Refrain from working in high winds (above 5 grade).
3. Not suitable for construction below 5°C.
4. If rain or snow occurs during construction, protective measures for the laid membrane are essential.
5. Workers must wear specialized uniforms for safety during installation. Fire control equipment is necessary.


Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated conditions.
2. Different membrane types should be stacked separately.
3. Under normal conditions, the storage period is one year from the production date.
4. During transportation, membrane rolls should be positioned vertically, away from sunlight and rainwater.
