Bitumen, a sticky, black and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid form of petroleum, is renowned for its impeccable waterproofing properties, making it a cornerstone in construction. Bituminous membranes are the ideal choice for waterproofing roofs, basements, below-ground structures, bridges, and more. Two primary methods for the application of bitumen membranes exist.
These methods are Torch-on and Self-adhesive.
Torch-on bituminous membranes shine as an effective, easy, and versatile solution for all seasons. Upon application, CHENHUA's bituminous membranes transform into a seamless, watertight barrier that bonds securely to the surface, ensuring long-lasting protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes find application across various building waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. They excel in both exposed and unexposed settings, such as flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.

Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure the substrate is impeccably clean, dry, and free of contaminants, prepared to perfection.
Remove all dust and loose, friable material entirely.
Completely expose and repair any blow holes and voids.
2. Primer:
Prior to laying the membrane, apply the painting primer, use a dust catcher or blower to clear the substrate, then coat thoroughly with a treatment primer to consolidate dust and achieve optimal adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Carefully unroll the torch-on membrane and align it precisely before commencing torching or bonding.
*Lay each membrane parallel and staggered by at least 1 meter to prevent joint overlap.
*End-to-end overlaps must be alternated and never aligned along a single line.
*Begin from the lowest height of the slope, ensuring drains, downpipes, and other details are accounted for.
*During torching, simultaneously heat the membrane and substrate, focusing on the roll and overlapping areas.
*Weld the overlaps with meticulous care until a thin trickle of melted composite, approximately 1 cm wide, emerges along the overlap line.
4.Employ a roller to apply firm pressure on the membrane surface, ensuring a robust, secure bond.


Attention:
1. The substrate must remain dry and clean. Avoid working in rainy or snowy conditions.
2. Refrain from working under heavy wind conditions (above 5 grade).
3. Construction is unsuitable in temperatures below 5°C.
4. Should rain or snow occur during the construction process, it's essential to implement protective measures for the laid membrane.
5. All workers must wear specialized uniforms for safety during installation. Fire control equipment is necessary.


Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry and well-ventilated conditions to maintain quality.
2. Different membrane types should be stacked separately to avoid cross-contamination.
3. Under normal conditions, membranes can be stored for up to one year from the production date.
4. During transportation, membrane rolls should be kept vertical and protected from sunlight and rainwater.
