Product Introduction
Bitumen, commonly known in the industry as asphalt, is a dense, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid derived from the meticulous refinement of petroleum. Celebrated for its exceptional waterproofing prowess, it is a cornerstone material in construction, known for its unmatched sealing capabilities. Bituminous membranes are the optimal choice for waterproofing endeavors, seamlessly covering roofs, basements, subterranean structures, bridges, and a myriad of other constructions. Notably, there are two predominant application methods for these bitumen membranes.
The methods are Torch-on and Self-adhesive-each offering unique advantages.
Torch-on bituminous membranes present a versatile, easy-to-apply solution, ideal for a variety of weather conditions. Upon application, CHENHUA membranes create a flawless, watertight barrier, securely bonded to the surface, providing peace of mind and enduring protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are widely embraced in numerous building classifications for both waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. They are suitable for exposed and concealed areas alike, including flat and sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, expansive parking lots, reservoirs, and beyond.
Method of Application:
1. Substrate Preparation:
Ensure the substrate is immaculately clean, dry, and devoid of all contaminant traces, prepared to the highest standards.
All dust and loose, friable materials must be meticulously eradicated.
Blowholes and voids should be fully exposed and meticulously repaired.
2. Primer Application:
Prior to membrane laying, apply a primer. Clean the substrate using a dust catcher or blower, then coat thoroughly with a treatment primer to ensure waterproofing, guaranteeing efficient dust consolidation and superior adhesion.
3. Membrane Placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane with precision and align it accurately before torching or bonding.
*Lay each membrane in parallel, staggered by at least 1 meter, to prevent coinciding joints.
*End-to-end overlaps must alternate, avoiding a single line alignment.
*Begin at the lowest slope, addressing drains, downpipes, or other critical details first.
*While torching, apply heat to both the membrane and substrate, concentrating on the roll and overlap areas.
*Overlaps should be welded with precision, ensuring a slim trickle of melted mixture, approximately 1 cm wide, along the overlap line.
4.Employ a roller to firmly press the membrane surface, ensuring robust adhesion.
Important Attention to Detail:
1. Confirm the substrate is dry and clean. Avoid work on rainy or snowy days.
2. Avoid working in strong winds (above grade 5).
3. Not suited for construction in temperatures below 5°C.
4. If rain or snow occurs during construction, implement protective measures for the laid membrane.
5. Personnel must wear specialized uniforms for safety during installation. Fire control equipment is essential.

Packing and Shipping Guidelines:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated conditions.
2. Different types of membranes must be stored separately to maintain quality.
3. Under standard conditions, the storage period is one year from the production date.
4. Store membrane rolls vertically during transportation, safeguarding them from sunlight and rain.

1) What is the popular size for Torch-on bitumen membrane?
-3mm x 1m x 10m, available with a PE or sand granular top finish.
-4mm x 1m x 10m with PE or sand granular top.
2) What's the fundamental difference between SBS and APP?
-SBS and APP are specialized modifiers meticulously engineered to significantly elevate the performance of waterproof membranes. SBS modifiers play a pivotal role in enhancing cold resistance, making them exceptionally suitable for frigid environments. In contrast, APP modifiers are crafted to augment heat resistance, ensuring robustness in high-temperature settings. While these modifiers share a similar look, the unique benefits they offer are distinct and tailored to specific environmental challenges.
