Bitumen, known to many as asphalt, is a dense, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid substance derived from petroleum. Renowned for its outstanding waterproofing capabilities, it is extensively favored in the construction sector. Bituminous membranes serve as the ultimate solution for waterproofing needs on roofs, basements, underground infrastructures, and bridges, as well as a vast array of other structures. Primarily, bitumen membranes can be applied using two dominant techniques.
These are the Torch-on method and the Self-adhesive method.
Torch-on bituminous membranes offer a versatile and user-friendly waterproofing solution adaptable to all weather scenarios. Upon application of CHENHUA membranes, they craft a seamless, watertight shield that adheres securely to the surface.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes find extensive applications across various building grades, efficiently tackling waterproofing and seepage-proofing challenges. Suitable for both exposed and hidden areas, they are perfect for flat and sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and beyond.
Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure that the substrate is impeccably clean, dry, and devoid of any contaminants, prepared to absolute perfection.
All dust and loose materials must be meticulously removed.
Blowholes and voids should be completely exposed and properly repaired.
2. Primer:
Apply primer prior to membrane placement. Clean the substrate thoroughly with a dust catcher or blower and coat it adequately with a treatment primer for enhanced waterproofing, ensuring effective dust consolidation and superior adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane with care and align it with precision before proceeding with torching or bonding.
*Each membrane must be placed in parallel, staggered by at least 1 meter to avoid matching seams.
*Alternate the end-to-end overlaps to avoid aligning them on a single line.
*Begin at the lowest slope height, prioritizing drains, downpipes, or intricate details.
*During the torching process, concurrently heat both the membrane and the substrate, with a focus on the roll and overlapping sections.
*Overlaps must be welded with exceptional precision, allowing a narrow trickle of melted mixture, approximately 1 cm wide, to emerge along the overlap line.
4.Employ a roller to firmly press down the membrane surface, ensuring secure adhesion.
Attention:
1. Confirm the substrate is dry and clean. Avoid operations on rainy or snowy days.
2. Refrain from working in strong winds (above grade 5).
3. Unsuitable for construction in temperatures below 5°C.
4. Should rain or snow intervene during construction, safeguard your laid membrane with protective measures.
5. All personnel must don specialized uniforms for safety during installation. Fire control equipment is a necessity.

Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes under dry, well-ventilated conditions.
2. Different membrane types should be stored separately.
3. Typically, the storage period is one year from the production date.
4. During transportation, membrane rolls should be stored vertically and protected from sunlight and rain.
