Bitumen, frequently referred to as asphalt, is a dense, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid derived from petroleum. Renowned for its exceptional waterproofing capabilities, it finds extensive application in the construction industry. Bituminous membranes serve as an ideal solution for waterproofing tasks involving roofs, basements, subterranean structures, bridges, and various other constructions. There are principally two prevalent application techniques for bitumen membranes.
The first is the Torch-on method, while the second is the Self-adhesive approach.
Torch-on bituminous membranes present a versatile and uncomplicated solution for any weather conditions. Upon applying the CHENHUA membranes, they establish a seamless, watertight barrier securely bonded to the underlying surface.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are extensively employed across diverse building grades for waterproofing and seepage-resistant projects. They are suitable for both exposed and hidden areas, including flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.
Application Method:
1. Substrate Preparation:
Ensure the substrate is meticulously clean, dry, and free from any contaminants, prepared to optimal quality.
All dust and loose, friable materials must be thoroughly removed.
Blowholes and voids should be fully exposed and then repaired accordingly.
2. Primer Application:
Apply primer before laying the membrane. Thoroughly clean the substrate with a dust catcher or blower and then coat it with a specialized treatment primer to ensure waterproofing, enhancing dust consolidation and adhesion.
3. Membrane Placement:
*Carefully unroll the torch-on membrane, aligning it accurately before commencing torching or bonding.
*Each membrane should be laid in parallel, staggered by at least 1 meter to prevent overlapping joints.
*End-to-end overlaps must be alternated, avoiding alignment along a single line.
*Installation should start at the lowest slope height, focusing on drains, downpipes, or other features.
*During torching, heat both the membrane and the substrate simultaneously, especially the roll and overlapping areas.
*Overlaps should be precision-welded, ensuring a fine trickle of molten mixture, approximately 1 cm wide, follows the overlap line.
4.Utilize a roller to firmly press down the membrane surface, ensuring secure adhesion.
Attention and Precautions:
1. Ensure the substrate is thoroughly dry and clean. Refrain from working on rainy or snowy days.
2. Avoid working in strong winds (above grade 5).
3. Construction is not advised below 5°C.
4. If rain or snow occurs during construction, protective measures for the applied membrane are crucial.
5. All personnel must wear specialized uniforms for safety during installation. Fire control equipment is mandatory.

Packing and Shipping Guidelines:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated environments.
2. Different types of membranes should be stored separately.
3. Under normal conditions, the storage duration is one year from the production date.
4. Membrane rolls must be stored vertically during transportation and shielded from sunlight and rain.
