Bitumen, frequently known as asphalt, is a sticky, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid form derived from petroleum. Celebrated for its outstanding waterproofing capabilities, it is extensively utilized across the construction sector. Bituminous membranes serve as an ideal solution for waterproofing roofs, basements, below-ground structures, bridges, and a plethora of other structures. The application of bitumen membranes generally employs two primary methods.
One is Torch-on, and the other is Self-adhesive
Torch-on bituminous membranes deliver unmatched efficiency, bringing ease and simplicity to any seasonal undertaking. Once installed, CHENHUA bituminous membranes act as a robust, seamless layer of watertight material, expertly bonded to the surface.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are highly versatile, making them suitable for a range of building waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. They excel in both exposed and unexposed areas, such as flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.

Application method:
1. Substrate Preparation:
Ensure the substrate is meticulously clean, dry, and free from all impurities, with proper preparation being key to success.
All dust and loose, friable materials must be thoroughly removed.
Any blowholes and voids should be fully exposed and subsequently repaired to ensure a smooth surface.
2. Primer Application:
Apply a primer before laying the membrane. Clean the substrate's dust using a dust catcher or blower; then, apply a comprehensive treatment primer to consolidate dust and enhance adhesive performance.
3. Membrane Placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane and align it properly before proceeding with torching or bonding.
*Each membrane must be placed parallel to others and staggered by at least 1 meter to prevent coinciding joints.
*The end-to-end overlaps should alternate and never align along a single line.
*Installation should commence at the lowest slope height, incorporating drains, downpipes, and other detailed areas.
*When torching the rolls, heat both the membrane and the substrate simultaneously, focusing on the roll and overlapping areas.
*Pay careful attention when welding overlaps to create a visible trickle of melted mixture, approximately 1 cm wide, emerging along the overlap line.
4. Final Touches:Employ a roller to exert pressure on the membrane surface to ensure a firm and lasting adhesion.


Attention:
1. The substrate must remain dry and clean. Avoid working in rainy or snowy conditions.
2. Refrain from working under strong winds (above 5-grade).
3. Construction is inadvisable in temperatures below 5°C.
4. Should rain or snow occur during construction, it's imperative to protect the laid membrane.
5. Workers must wear specialized uniforms for safety during installation. Proper fire control equipment is essential.


Packing and Shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated conditions to maintain their quality.
2. Different membrane types should be stored separately to prevent any mix-ups.
3. Typically, the storage period extends to one year from the production date.
4. During transportation, membrane rolls should be positioned vertically and shielded from sunlight and rainwater.
