Product Introduction
Bitumen, often referred to as asphalt, is a dense, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid form of petroleum. Known for its superior waterproofing capabilities, it is a staple in the construction industry. Bituminous membranes are the quintessential choice for waterproofing roofs, basements, underground structures, bridges, and a plethora of other constructions. There are predominantly two main application methods for bitumen membranes that stand out.
The first is the Torch-on method, while the second is Self-adhesive.
Torch-on bituminous membranes provide a versatile and hassle-free solution for any weather condition. Upon application, CHENHUA membranes create a seamless and impermeable barrier that adheres firmly to surfaces.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are extensively utilized across various construction grades for waterproofing and seepage-proofing endeavors. Their versatility makes them suitable for both exposed and concealed locations, such as flat and sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and more.
Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure the substrate is impeccably clean, dry, and free from all contaminants, meticulously prepared for the task.
All dust and loose, friable materials must be completely removed.
Any blowholes and voids should be fully exposed and repaired accordingly.
2. Primer:
Apply primer prior to membrane placement. Clean the substrate using a dust catcher or blower, then coat thoroughly with a treatment primer to assure waterproofing, enhancing dust consolidation and adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Carefully unroll the torch-on membrane, aligning it with precision before proceeding with torching or bonding.
*Lay each membrane in parallel, ensuring they are staggered by at least 1 meter to avoid joint overlap.
*Alternate the end-to-end overlaps, never aligning them along the same line.
*Always start at the lowest slope height, focusing initial efforts on drains, downpipes, or similar details.
*During torching, simultaneously heat both the membrane and substrate, concentrating on the roll and overlapping zones.
*Weld overlaps with precision, ensuring a slight trickle of melted mixture, roughly 1 cm wide, emerges along the overlap line.
4.Employ a roller to firmly press down on the membrane surface to ensure secure adhesion.
Attention:
1. Verify the substrate is dry and spotless. Avoid working during rain or snow.
2. Refrain from working under strong winds (above grade 5).
3. Not suitable for conditions below 5°C.
4. Implement protective measures for the membrane if rain or snow occurs during construction.
5. All personnel must wear specialized uniforms for safety during installation. Fire safety equipment is also necessary.

Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated areas.
2. Different types of membranes should be stored separately to maintain integrity.
3. Under standard conditions, the storage period is one year from the production date.
4. During transport, store membrane rolls vertically and shield them from sunlight and rain.

1) What's the popular size for Torch-on bitumen membrane?
-3mm x 1m x 10m with a PE or sand granular top surface.
Our premium Torch On Bitumen Membrane is available in a size specification of 4mm x 1m x 10m, offering a choice between a sleek PE finish or a refined sand granular top to suit your aesthetic and functional preferences.
2) What's the fundamental difference between SBS and APP?
-SBS and APP are expertly engineered modifiers tailored to elevate the performance of waterproof membranes. SBS, or Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene, is crafted to significantly enhance cold resistance, making it the perfect solution for frigid climates. On the other hand, APP, or Atactic Polypropylene, excels in boosting heat resistance, ideal for warmer conditions. Although they may look similar, each modifier offers distinct advantages tailored to different environmental challenges, ensuring optimal performance.
3) Is OEM available?
