Bitumen, often recognized as asphalt, is a dense, black, and viscous liquid or semi-solid derived from petroleum. Celebrated for its exceptional waterproofing abilities, it serves as an essential component in construction. Bituminous membranes shine as the ultimate solution for waterproofing roofs, safeguarding basements, fortifying below-ground structures, and protecting bridges and a myriad of other constructions. This innovation is primarily applied using two distinct methods: Torch-on and Self-adhesive.
The two primary application methods for bitumen membranes include: Torch-on and Self-adhesive.
Torch-on bituminous membranes stand out as a versatile, efficient, and user-friendly solution suitable for all seasons. After application, CHENHUA's bituminous membranes form a thin yet impermeable layer that adheres seamlessly to the surface, ensuring high performance.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are extensively utilized across various building waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. They are ideal for both exposed and concealed areas including flat roofs, sloped roofs, subterranean environments, tunnels, bridges, parking areas, reservoirs, and more.

Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure that the substrate is meticulously clean, thoroughly dry, and devoid of any contaminants or impurities, ensuring it is expertly prepared.
All dust and loose friable materials must be meticulously eliminated.
Any blow holes and voids must be completely uncovered and then expertly repaired.
2. Primer:
Apply a primer coating before laying the membrane. Use a dust catcher or blower to clear dust from the substrate, then apply a comprehensive layer of treatment primer designed for waterproofing, to achieve dust consolidation and enhance adhesive properties.
3. Membrane placement:
*Carefully unroll the torch-on membrane and align it precisely before proceeding with torching or bonding.
*Each membrane must be laid parallel to its neighbor and staggered by a minimum of 1 meter to prevent overlapping joints.
*Ensure end-to-end overlaps are always alternate, avoiding any arrangement along a singular line.
*Begin application at the lowest point of the slope, focusing on the areas with drains, downpipes, or other critical details.
*The torching process must simultaneously heat both the membrane and its substrate, with focus on the roll and overlapping areas.
*Precision is key when welding the overlaps, continuing until a fine line of melted material, about 1 cm wide, emerges along the overlap's edge.
4.Utilize a roller to apply pressure firmly on the membrane surface, ensuring it adheres securely.


Attention:
1. The substrate must remain dry and clean. Avoid undertaking work during rainy or snowy weather.
2. Do not proceed with work in conditions where wind exceeds 5 on the Beaufort scale.
3. It is inadvisable to carry out construction activities when temperatures are below 5°C.
4. Should rain or snow occur during construction, protective measures must be employed to safeguard the installed membrane.
5. Workers must wear specialized uniforms to ensure safety during installation. Fire control equipment is essential.


Packing and Shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated conditions to maintain quality.
2. Different types of membranes should be stacked separately to prevent confusion.
3. Under normal circumstances, the storage period is one year from the production date.
4. During transportation, membrane rolls should be positioned vertically and kept away from direct sunlight and rain to prevent damage.
