Product Introduction
Bitumen, also known as asphalt, is a dense, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid material derived from petroleum, renowned for its exceptional waterproofing abilities. It plays a crucial role in the construction sector, offering extraordinary waterproofing solutions. Bituminous membranes are the ultimate choice for waterproofing roofs, basements, underground structures, bridges, and a wide array of other constructions. Primarily, there are two predominant application techniques for bitumen membranes.
These are the Torch-on method and the Self-adhesive technique.
Torch-on bituminous membranes are a versatile, user-friendly solution adaptable to all weather conditions. The CHENHUA membranes, once applied, create a seamless and watertight barrier that bonds securely with the surface, ensuring long-lasting protection.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes are widely used across various construction grades for comprehensive waterproofing and seepage-proofing projects. They are perfectly suited for both exposed and concealed areas, including flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground spaces, tunnels, bridges, parking lots, reservoirs, and many more significant structures.
Application Method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure the substrate is scrupulously clean, dry, and free from any contaminants, ready for flawless application.
All dust and loose materials must be completely removed to guarantee optimal adherence.
Blowholes and voids should be fully exposed and meticulously repaired to ensure a smooth surface.
2. Primer:
Apply a primer before laying the membrane. Clean the substrate using a dust catcher or blower and then thoroughly coat it with a treatment primer. This step is crucial for effective waterproofing, ensuring enhanced dust consolidation and superior adhesion.
3. Membrane Placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane carefully, aligning it perfectly before commencing the torching or bonding process.
*Position each membrane in parallel, staggering them by at least 1 meter to avoid overlapping joints.
*Alternate the end-to-end overlaps, ensuring they are not aligned along a single line.
*Begin at the lowest slope height, starting with critical areas like drains, downpipes, or other intricate details.
*During torching, apply heat simultaneously to both the membrane and substrate, focusing on the roll and overlapping regions for a secure bond.
*Weld the overlaps with precision, ensuring a thin trickle of melted mixture, approximately 1 cm wide, appears along the overlap line for perfect sealing.
4.Use a roller to firmly press down the membrane surface, ensuring a tight and secure adhesion.
Attention:
1. Ensure the substrate is dry and impeccably clean. Avoid operations on rainy or snowy days to maintain quality.
2. Avoid working in strong winds (exceeding grade 5) to ensure safety and precision.
3. The product is unsuitable for construction in temperatures below 5°C.
4. Should rain or snow occur during construction, implement protective measures for the installed membrane to maintain integrity.
5. All personnel must wear dedicated uniforms for safety during installation. Fire control equipment is a necessary precaution.

Packing and Shipping:
1. Store membranes in dry, well-ventilated environments to preserve their quality.
2. Different membrane types should be stored separately to prevent cross-contamination.
3. Under standard conditions, the storage period is one year from the date of production.
4. Rolls of membrane should be stored vertically during transportation and must be shielded from sunlight and rain for protection.

1) What is the popular size for Torch-on bitumen membrane?
-3mm x 1m x 10m, available with a PE or sand granular top finish.
-4mm x 1m x 10m with PE or sand granular top.
2) What's the fundamental difference between SBS and APP?
-SBS and APP are specialized modifiers crafted to elevate the performance of waterproof membranes. SBS modifiers considerably enhance the cold resistance, making them perfect for environments subject to lower temperatures. On the other hand, APP modifiers amplify the heat resistance, making them suitable for warmer conditions. Despite their similar outward appearance, these modifiers bring distinct performance enhancements to the table.
