Bitumen, commonly known as asphalt, is a dense, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid originating from petroleum. Renowned for its exceptional waterproofing capabilities, it plays a pivotal role in the construction industry. Bituminous membranes are quintessential for waterproofing applications across roofs, basements, underground structures, bridges, and a plethora of other constructions. Generally, two primary application techniques are utilized for bitumen membranes.
The first method is the Torch-on technique, followed by the Self-adhesive method.
Torch-on bituminous membranes offer a versatile and user-friendly solution suitable for all weather conditions. Upon application, CHENHUA membranes create a seamless, watertight barrier that adheres securely to the surface.

Torch Down Bitumen Waterproof Membranes find extensive use across various building grades for waterproofing and seepage-proofing initiatives. Apt for exposed and concealed areas alike, they cater to flat roofs, sloped roofs, underground regions, tunnels, bridges, parking areas, reservoirs, and more.
Application method:
1. Substrate:
Ensure the substrate is immaculately clean, dry, and devoid of all contaminants, prepared to perfection.
All dust and loose, friable materials must be meticulously removed.
Blowholes and voids should be thoroughly exposed and subsequently rectified.
2. Primer:
Apply primer before membrane installation. Clean the substrate with a dust catcher or blower, then comprehensively coat it with a treatment primer to ensure waterproofing, achieve effective dust consolidation, and enhance adhesion.
3. Membrane placement:
*Unroll the torch-on membrane with precision and align it accurately before commencing torching or bonding.
*Lay each membrane in parallel, with staggering of at least 1 meter to avoid coinciding joints.
*Alternate end-to-end overlaps, ensuring they are never aligned along a single line.
*Begin at the lowest slope height, starting with drains, downpipes, or other intricate details.
*During torching, concurrently heat both the membrane and the substrate, concentrating on the roll and overlapping segments.
*Overlaps must be welded precisely, ensuring a delicate trickle of melted material, about 1 cm wide, manifests along the overlap line.
4.Use a roller to assertively press down the membrane surface, ensuring secure adhesion.
Attention:
1. Confirm that the substrate is dry and clean. Avoid working under rainy or snowy conditions.
2. Avoid operations in robust winds (exceeding grade 5).
3. Construction is not advisable below temperatures of 5°C.
4. In case of rain or snow during construction, protective measures for the installed membrane are crucial.
5. All personnel must don specialized uniforms for safety during installation. Fire control equipment is indispensable.

Packing and shipping:
1. Store membranes in conditions that are dry and well-ventilated.
2. Different membrane formats must be stored distinctly.
3. Under standard conditions, the storage duration is one year from the production date.
4. Store membrane rolls vertically during transportation, shielding them from sunlight and rain.
